Local county councillor Josh Beynon has organised a drop-in event for the new ‘kerbside sort scheme’ being introduced by Pembrokeshire County Council.
This will take place on Thursday, September 19 at Pembroke Dock Community School between 2.30 and 6.30 pm.
The new arrangements for Kerbside collection in the autumn include the introduction of a Kerbside Sort Recycling Collection Service, which PCC?say will see an increase in the range of recycling you can present at the kerbside including: plastic pots, tubs and trays, Tetra Pak, food and beverage cartons and household batteries, in line with those that can now be disposed of at the waste and recycling centres.
The aim of these changes is to boost the amount of recycling across the County, reducing the amount you place in your residual (non-recyclable) waste bags.
These changes will result in an estimated 75 per cent of all household waste being collected on a weekly or fortnightly basis from people’s homes, inclusive of recyclables, green waste and absorbent hygiene products.
“Come along to learn more about the scheme and see the recycling containers and sacks for yourself,” stated Clr. Beynon on his Facebook page.
