Fourteen pupils from Pembroke Dock Community School attended the Dyfed Primary Schools Athletics Championships on Monday, June 24, at the athletics track in Carmarthen. It was a lovely sunny evening, with many schools taking part from all over Dyfed.

Sydnee Turner won the shot putt for the second consecutive year, with a fantastic 7:25cm. Byron Hughes jumped well, 3m 65cm, to gain a bronze medal in the long jump. George Kingdom, shot putt, and the girls relay team of Sydnee Turner, Holly Bourner, Ruby Francis and Louise Mear all narrowly missed out on bronze medals and were placed fourth in their finals. Gareth Finnegan was placed seventh in the 800m and Ruby Francis seventh in the 80m hurdles.

Overall the school were placed joint fourth, a very commendable effort by all. Well done!
