Division One

As the game of musical chairs continues for the title race amongst the top four or possibly five top teams, Cresselly have slipped to second place in the table, just one point behind the new leaders Carew, with Neyland three points behind Cresselly in third place.

Fourth placed Saundersfoot can still take the title if results go their way and Haverfordwest could still take everyone by surprise.

Carew have regained the lead after bowling out Lawrenny for 105 chasing a total of 163-9 posted by the visitors before the tea interval.

Opener Nick Scourfield with 65 shared a fourth wicket partnership of 98 with Brian Hall who scored 53, as the pair scored the bulk of the runs for the visitors. Skipper Robert Williams took 3-34 for Lawrenny.

Adrian Harries led the Lawrenny resistance with a stubborn innings of 39 and 30 of the Lawrenny runs came from extras!

For Carew, Steffan Davies took 3-17 and Matthew Philips 3-18.

Neyland kept in the hunt after dismissing St Ishmaels for 135-9 after an early tea. Andrew Williams scored 54 not out for Tish, backed up by Paul Palmer with 26.

Patrick Hannon took 3-30 for the visitors, who replied with a total of 136-3. Stroke player Paul Murray scored 68 with nine fours and one six, supported by Gregg Miller with 27.

Narberth gave the previous week's leaders Cresselly a run for their money and came within a whisker of snatching a dramatic last over win, but had to settle for a draw on 190-7 in reply to a Cresselly total of 193-9.

None of the Cresselly batsmen were let off the leash and even the pugnacious Ryan Lewis was restricted to 35 including three sixes as he gave the innings a late boost along with Lyn Richards who scored 21.

Earlier Simon Cole scored 31, Julian Arthur 27 and Mathew Morgan 20, with Ben Hughes and Ben Quartermaine each collecting three wickets.

A second wicket stand of 64 between opener Wayne Howells with 43 and Marc Hughes with 44 including six fours and one six put the visitors in with a shout. The chance of a win became even stronger after middle order batsman Mike Scale scored 27 and teenager Jordan Howell again showed his strength as a budding all-rounder with 32 not out.

Unfortunately for the visitors, Howell and Connor Lloyd could only score six singles from the last over bowled by Ryan Lewis, when 10 runs were needed to secure a win.

Saundersfoot suffered a set back to their title hopes after going down by six wickets to the visitors, Haverfordwest who have a mathematical chance of getting pole position themselves.

The consistent Ian Poole scored 40 for the Seasiders supported by Simon Wood with 20 and David Blackwell with 20 not out as Saundersfoot were restricted to 175-8.

Left arm spinner Simons Holliday took 3-49 for Harfat, who won by six wickets with a total of 178-4.

Saundersfoot got Simon Holliday out for 29, but Ben Field played a match winning innings of 91 not out with 12 fours and three sixes, backed up by Adam Raymond with 21 in a third wickets stand of 82.

In a rain interrupted match at Herbrandston the visitors Whitland had a comfortable eight wickets win after dismissing the home team for 165, as skipper Mathew Davies took 4-54 and Daniel James 3-18.

Jonty Bennett held the Herbie innings together with a solid 36, after opener Leigh Marchant scored 19.

Whitland reached 168-2 with plenty of spare overs in the bank as opener Dave Lee scored 38 and then David Dunfee with 47 not out and Paul Davies with 56 not out including nine fours featured in an unbroken third wicket partnership of 70.

Division Two

Cresselly Seconds held on to third place after scoring 222-6 away to Pembroke Dock.

Nick Davies scored 80 with 14 fours and one six and had a fourth wicket stand of 88 with Scott Arthur who scored 43.

Richard Harris also chipped in with 36 as Nick Daley and Jamie White both took two wickets for the Dock.

Matthew Lewis took 5-17 with his left arm seamers, supported by Bobby Webb with 3-17 and the Dock were bundled out for 60, despite the efforts of Nick Daley (18) and Peter Kingdom (16).

Carew Seconds have slipped down a place after losing by seven wickets at home to Hook, who reached 113-3 in reply to a Carew total of 111 all out.

Ben Evans had a defiant 37 and Lewis Hicks backed up with 20, as Matthew Holder took 4-27 for the visitors and Gary Martin 3-12.

Jamie Phelps once again showed his quality for the visitors with an innings of 53, supported by Tom Blaxland with 36 not out.

In the basement battle at the bottom of Division Two, Whitland Seconds scored 220-6 before declaring at home to Stackpole, following consistent batting by Wayne Jones with 64, including nine fours and one six and Jonathan Thomas with 64 not out, supported by Meyrick Rowlands with 31 and Paul Webb with 25.

Alan Webster took 3-42 for the visitors, who were bowled out for 99 with Josh Davies offering the most resistance on 20.

Spinner Paul Webb took 5-29 and paceman Iestyn Scourfield 3-17.

Division Three

Leaders Pembroke had a comfortable seven wickets win away to Johnston Seconds who had scored 149 before being dismissed.

Simon Williams scored 36 and another all-rounder Chris Fitzpatrick was not far behind with 35, as Sean Powell, Jonathan Rogers and Andrew Skate each picked up two wickets for Pembroke.

Paul White provided the foundation for the seven wickets win with an innings of 50, supported by Phil Hay with 43 and Andrew Price with 30 not out in the Pembroke total of 150-3.

Lamphey scored 223-8 at home to Carew Thirds who were bowled out for 67 in reply.

In a consistent batting display Lewis Haines top scored with 54, supported by another young player James Skeels with 30 and two more experienced players, Hywel Gibbs and Grant Cole who were both 27 not out.

Oliver Cole and Luke Hicks both picked up two wickets for the visitors for whom Gethin Evans was the only batsman in double figures with 12, as Hywel Gibbs took 3-6 and Jason Oatley 3-24.

Experienced Llechryd campaigners Steve Smith and Steve Curran put the Crymych bowling attack to the sword in reaching a big total of 186-3 off 33 overs, after Smith had scored 91 and Curran 72.

However, persistent rain changed the rock hard ideal batting conditions into a quagmire and no further play was possible at the Glandy Cross ground.

Narberth Seconds held on for a draw at 121-9 after the visitors Llanrhian had scored 176-5 with three batsmen making major contributions.

All-rounder Gareth Davies scored 58, Jack Jones 52 and Ben Jones 41 with Tim Mills and Mike Johns each picking up two wickets for the Narberth team.

In the Narberth reply, Luke Jones cut through the batting order with a 4-33 spell, supported by Jack Jones and Matthew Bennett with two wickets each, after Mike Johns with 26 and his son Matthew with 25 kept the Narberth team in the game.

Kilgetty had 10 wickets win at home to Fishguard who were dismissed for 121 after Richard Gwyther took 3-24 back up by a brace of wicket for Richard Cope and Peter Hall.

Darren John had a defiant 65 with 11 fours but lacked support.

The total posed no problems for skipper Anthony Bevan with 75 not out including two sixes and 13 fours, as he survived four chances, in an opening stand of 124 with Welsh over Sixties International Peter Hall who kept the other end intact with 43 not out.

Division Four

In the bottom of the table clash and in an exciting finish, Lawrenny Seconds won by two wickets away to Llanrhian Seconds who had scored 162-7.

John Fuller and Stuart Prosser each took two wickets for the visitors, as Colin Reynolds scored 70, Andrew Leese 28 and Robert Jenkins 20.not out.

Left hander Jonathan Mathias had a fine innings of 62, which included 12 fours, Andrew Cole Junior had a quick 30, backed up by John Fuller with 25 not out in a Lawrenny total of 164-8.

Robert Jenkins took 3-38 for Llanrhian.

Cresselly Thirds had a day to forget away to Burton Thirds, after being dismissed for 64 and then going down by seven wickets as Burton Seconds reached 65-3 in reply.

Hundleton scored 187-5 away to Neyland Seconds, after John Tysoe scored 39 and the consistent Jonathan Williams 23.

Neyland Seconds won by six wickets with a total of 191-4 after Patrick Bellerby led the victory chase with 59 not out, supported by Ian Lewis with 39, Lee Day with 28 and Alex Codd with 22 not out.

Division Five

A pre match pep talk by Narberth Thirds skipper Huw Simpkins paid dividends as the Narberth team had a three wickets win at home to Division Five leaders St Clears, who were bowled out for 115.

Middle order batsman Ian Thomas scored 30, but the rest of the Saints' batsmen including acting captain Rob Morgan who scored 17 found life difficult against the slow left arm chinamen bowled by Ceri Davies who finished with 5-14.

Narberth reached 116-7 after 32 overs as Sam Mills scored 32, Nathan Lloyd 26 and Brynley Toms a quick fire 24.

Alun Thomas, Shaun Lynch and Nathan Evans each collected two wickets for the visitors.

Saundersfoot Seconds remain in second place, despite losing by six wickets away to St Florence in the local derby.

The visitors scored 106 all out after Ashley Smith took 4-37 and Ben McDonnell 3-20. Geoff Marsh top scored on 19 and then Steve Davies with 37 not out enjoyed a fifth wicket partnership of 84 with Mike Cackett who scored 41 not out after the Saints had been reduced to 26-4.

Jack Franklin followed up his 18 runs to cause the early damage with 3-18.

In a key high scoring match in the promotion race Pembroke Seconds moved up into third spot, with a tense two wickets win at home to St Ishmaels Seconds, who had scored 237-5.

Gareth Cheshire led the scoring with 84, supported by all-rounder Daniel Flynn with 68 and Rob Cockburn with 30.

Don Patel had the innings of the day with 102 , backed up by Peter Taylor with 26 as Daniel Flynn took 3-35 for the visitors.

Whitland Thirds were away to Haverfordwest Fourths who scored 177-7 after the experienced Andrew Phillips scored 51, Richard Davies 27, Colin Slater 26 and Stephen H Phillips 24.

Connor Bowen took 3-24 for Whitland Thirds who were dismissed for a disappointing total of 113, despite the efforts of Josh Jones to keep his team in the hunt with a fine knock of 58.

For the Harfat team, Paul Jenkins took 4-27 and Richard Davies 3-36.

Division Six

Lamphey Seconds had their second win of the season despite only scoring 111 before being dismissed away to Llanrhian Thirds.

Two youngsters, Scott Brunton with 25 and Gethin Llewellyn with 23, were the leading scorers and then Scott Brunton took 4-13 as the home team were dismissed for 94, to give the Lamphey team a win by 17 runs.

Maldwyn Llewellyn took 2-26 for the visitors.

On the other side of the Preseli Hills the local derby at Llechryd was played to a conclusion after Crymych Seconds had scored 193-7 on a soft wicket.

Marc Thomas had to graft for his excellent innings of 102, supported by Jacob Lloyd with 46, as boundaries were few and far between.

In response, Llechryd Seconds were bowled out for 140. Alex Smith tried to keep the victory bid on course with is innings of 54 but no one else was able to provide the requisite support as Alan Luke took 4-11.

In a low scoring match at Hundleton, the visitors Burton Thirds were bundled out for 34 as Paul Edwards took 4-23 and David Pratt 2-7.

Hundleton Seconds won by eight wickets with David Lockyear 10 not out.
