Division One

At a time when the Championship is still open to any one of the top four sides, Neyland have taken over at the top of the table from Carew, who are one point behind the new leaders with Cresselly in third place.

Neyland are in pole position, following a five wickets win away to struggling Herbrandston, who were bowled out for 81, as left arm seamer Henry Durrant took 3-37 and spinner Gary Lloyd 3-16.

Kristan Bennett led the Herbie resistance with 25 but Neyland lost five wickets in getting to a winning total of 82 and were indebted to Paul Murray with 25 and the in form Nick Koomen who scored 25 not out.

Dean John followed up his 16 runs to take 3-8.

Lowly Narberth had much the better of the drawn match at Carew, who were leading the Division One table at the start of the game, as Carew were unable to match the Narberth total of 179-6.

After a rather sluggish start by Narberth, a second wicket partnership of 63 between Marc Hughes who scored 56 with three sixes and three fours and Wayne Howells with 21 started the ball rolling.

Progress was continued in a lively fifth wicket partnership of 61 between Joel Davies (40) and Connor Lloyd (22) which boosted the Narberth total with some help from Jordan Howell with 21.

The Carew bowlers each took one wicket with Matthew Phillips having the best economy rate of 1- 13 in eight overs.

Excellent bowling and fielding by Narberth who were determined to win, or failing victory not to lose this match, restricted Carew to a total of 151-8, in a team effort with everyone playing for each other. Rhys Davies kept Carew in touch with the Narberth total in his well constructed innings of 45 not out.

None of the other Carew batsmen could really get going as spinner Matthew Johns took 4-28 and Ben Quartermaine 3-22, so that Carew could only reach 151-8 in reply.

Cresselly had a four wickets win away to Saundersfoot after the home team posted a total of 188-9.

Skipper James Caine hit four sixes and three fours in his innings of 55 and received support from Phil Jones with 36, Nick Cope with 27 and Jason Llama with 26.

The Jenkins brothers took the wickets for the visitors with Sion taking 3-39 and Stefan 3-31.

Cresselly won with three overs to spare on 189-6 after Simon Cole (83) and Adam Chandler (42) featured in a third wickets stand of 92.

St Ishmaels scored 166-8 away to Lawrenny after excellent batting by all-rounder Andrew Williams with 72 not out, backed up by Danny Howells (28) and Paul Palmer (27).

Steve Lewis took 3-36 for Lawrenny who were bowled out for 131 in reply, despite the efforts of James Buckle with 30 and Ian Jenkins with 22.

Jonathan Pawlett took 3-24 and Andrew Williams completed a good all round match with figures of 3-34.

Haverfordwest scored 262-4 at Whitland after an opening partnership of 174 between the prolific scoring Simon Holliday and Danny Potter.

Holliday scored 154 not out, his third century in four innings and hit five sixes as well as 20 fours.

Potter is also an attacking batsman but had to be content with 63 in support of the amazing Holliday. Whitland skipper Matthew Davies took two of the wickets to fall and was 29 not out at the end when Whitland were 212-6.

Opener David Lee scored 61, supported by opening partner Iestyn Scourfield with 28 and by Paul Davies who scored 31 as he added 64 for the second wicket with Lee.

Jonathan Thomas also had a useful innings of 20 as Holliday followed up his batting to take 3-41 with his left arm spin.

Division Two

Cresselly Seconds have moved into third place in the table after a comfortable 92 runs win at home to Hook.

Cresselly reached 174-6 after some consistent batting by Neale Williams with 52, Scott Arthur with 33 and Richard Harris with 28 not out.

Andrew Thomas took 3-46 for the visitors who were bowled out for 82 with Bobby Webb taking 5-24 and Sam Harts 3-18.

Carew Seconds have slipped down to third place in the table after a five wickets defeat away to Haverfordwest Seconds in a top of the table clash

Carew Seconds got to 172-8 after Barry Evans scored 52, James Hinchcliffe 27 and Ben Evans 21.

All-rounder Phil Kirkby took 4-57 for Haverfordwest Seconds who used their home advantage to reach 173-5. Kirkby followed up his fours wickets with an undefeated innings of 64, supported by the hard hitting Richard Scriven with 39 and Nigel Delaney with 29.

Whitland Seconds enjoyed a rare victory in Division Two aft scoring 161-8 away to Pembroke Dock.

Paul Webb anchored the innings with 52 not out, supported by Meyrick Rowlands and Wayne Jones who both scored 28.

Jamie White took 3-40 for Pembroke Dock who were bowled out for 109 in reply, despite the effort of Luc Barford with 26.

Carl Smith ripped through the Dock batsmen in an innings destroying lively fast medium spell to take 8-27.

Division Three

Kilgetty's home match against Division Three leaders Pembroke was a victim of the weather which made the pitch too wet for play, in the only match abandoned on the day.

Carew Thirds held on for a draw away to Fishguard after the home team had scored 207-8. Michael Lawrence scored 57, David Haynes 40 and Vaughan Davies 26.

Wrist spinner Greg Morris took 3-31 for the visitors who scored 112-8 in a rearguard action led by the experienced Jeremy Griffiths who hit eight fours and one six in his fighting innings of 50.

Crymych were bowled out for 79 after travelling to Lamphey with nine players. Rob Couzens offered the main resistance with 21 as spinner Hywel Gibbs took 5-27 for Lamphey.

Although Dai Jenkins took 3-33, Lamphey won by seven wickets with a total of 80-3 after good batting by Lewis Haines (30) and Hywel Gibbs (23no).

Narberth Seconds were bowled out for 84 chasing a Johnston Seconds total of 139 all out.

Gary James scored 28 for the visitors, supported by Gary Stephens with 24 and Liam James with 20, as evergreen off-spinner Nick Evans took 4-28.

Four of the Narberth batsmen made useful starts but Mike Williams (25) was the only batsman to score more than 20 as Liam James took 3-25 for the visitors with three other bowlers picking up important wickets.

Division Four

Second placed Hundleton had the better of a drawn game at home to Cresselly Thirds after building up a total of 157-8.

The evergreen Jonathan Williams laid the foundations with 48 along with Morgan Allen who backed up with 45.

Young Harry Thomas took 3-41 for the visitors who held out for a draw on 103-9 after Steve Wilkins scored 41 and Harry Thomas 22.

Another evergreen player Chris Stapleton took 4-20 for Hundleton.

Lawrenny Seconds reached 192 before being dismissed at the Racecourse in Haverfordwest playing against Haverfordwest Thirds.

Matthew Lewis led the run scoring with 59, all-rounder Phil Cole chipped in with 50 and Brad Jenkins was in support with 36,

Ashley James took 4-39 and James Morris 3-24 for the home team who were 178-5 at the close of play.

Ashley James confirmed his development with 67, the experienced Mark White held things together with 40 and Jasper Homes scored 26.

Division Five

Division Five leaders St Clears remain top of the table despite suffering their first defeat since re-entering the League, which was made all the worse because it was at the hands of near neighbours and bottom of the table Whitland Thirds.

The Saints were without five regulars including skipper Andrew Edwards who could not play following a close family bereavement and St Clears were dismissed for 138, despite the efforts of Martin Thomas, a former Whitland player, who scored 66 with 14 fours and one six.

He received excellent support from acting skipper Robert Morgan with 31 not out and Alec Weston with 22, as 14 year old Connor Bowen took 3-8 and Gwynne Phillips 3-29 for the visitors.

Saundersfoot Seconds have held on to second place in the table despite losing away to St Ishmaels Seconds as third placed Pembroke Seconds also lost at home to Herbrandston Seconds.

In the match at St Ishmaels the visitors Saundersfoot Seconds were dismissed for 117 after Ryan Rees had taken 4-26 and Daniel Flynn 4-23.

Chris Hawkes was the leading scorer for the visitors with 34.

Although Jack Franklin took 3-33, led by Daniel Richards with 42 and Daniel Flynn with 23 the Tish team reached 118-8 to win by two wickets.

In another exciting finish at Pembroke, the home team lost by nine runs chasing a Herbrandston Seconds total of 148-8.

Alan McLleland scored 65 and received support from Ashley Britton with 21.

Rob Weston took 3-8 for Pembroke Seconds who were bowled out for 139, despite the efforts of Luke Butler with 40 and Sean Powell with 21.

Sean Williams took 4-22 for the visitors.

In the mid table battle St Florence scored 179-6 at home to Haverfordwest Fourths following a knock of 82 not out by Steve Davies and 34 from Ashley Smith.

The visitors won by seven wickets with a total of 182-3 after Kern Cunningham was 92 not out, Chris Saunders scored 50 and John Whale 23.

Whitland Thirds batted with composure and won by six wickets on a total of 140-4 as Dafydd Evans scored 44, James Davies 41 and the experienced Gwynne Phillips 20 not out.

Martin Thomas took two of the wickets to fall.

Narberth Thirds were bowled out for 52 at home to Fishguard Seconds with pugnacious left hander Brynley Toms scoring more than half the runs with 30. For the visitors Sean O'Connor took 5-5 and Ben Watson 3-12.

The Fishguard team lost six wickets in the process before grabbing a win as Ben Watson top soared with 21.

Brynley Tomas and Sean Thomas each took two of the wickets to fall.

Hundleton Seconds scored 93-9 away to Llechryd Seconds after David Lockyear scored 23 not out and Terry Broadhurst also scored 23.

Rhys Davies took 5-22 for the Llechryd team who won by four wickets with Mark Newell 49 not out.

David Pratt was the pick of the Hundleton bowlers with 4-52.

Division Six

Second placed Camrose and Spittal Seconds were much too strong for Lamphey Seconds who were bundled out for 61 after chasing a big total of 241-3.

Narberth rugby centre Neil Davies had an undefeated innings of 105 and had support from Jeff Harries with 83.

Martyn Tweedie then took 6-11 to rip the heart out of the Lamphey innings with Tim Bourne and Jonathan Mathias being the only batsman in double figures with 12 runs apiece.

Crymych Seconds wren dismissed for 137 chasing a total of 152 all out posted by the visitors, Division Six leaders Pembroke Dock Seconds.

Luke Murray had a cracking innings of 96, supported by John Davies with 27 as Bleddyn Williams took 3-31 and Marc Thomas 3-33.

Bleddyn Williams completed a good all round match by scoring 45, backed up by Dyfed Sion with 23 as man of the match Luke Murray took 5-40 in the match sponsored by Ladds Ironmongers of Clunderwen.
