Division One

Carew have built up a lead of 19 points at the top of the table after a five wickets win at home to Championship rivals Neyland, who have been pushed into fourth place as a result, with Saundersfoot moving into second place and Cresselly into third place.

The visitors, Neyland, got off to the worst possible start losing two wickets without a run on the board, but eventually reached 163-9 after a fighting knock of 52 by Ashley Sutton, supported by Paul Murray with 34 and Henry Durrant with 23.

Scott Helmich had an excellent spell 4-30 and Tim Hicks took 3-48.

A stylish innings of 52 by Ian Sefton, backed up by Gareth Lewis with 35 and Tim Hicks 23 not out, including five fours took Carew to 166-5.

Gary Lloyd and Patrick Hannon both took two wickets each for the visitors.

Over 400 runs were scored at Whitland where Cresselly were the visitors.

Excellent batting by all-rounder David Dunfee with a blistering innings of 58 not out, which included five sixes and four fours, supported by Paul Davies (40), David Lee (26), and skipper Matthew Davies (24) gave Whitland a total of 205-8 as the Cresselly bowlers struggled to take wickets.

After tea, the Whitland bowlers also found the same difficulty as Championship chasing Cresselly moved up into third place in the Division One table on notching up a seven wickets win with a total of 209-3,

Stylish left handers Simon Cole (72) and teenager Matthew Morgan (89no), an innings which included 15 fours added 127 in a third wicket match winning partnership.

Saundersfoot got out of jail twice away to Lawrenny, initially after being 22-4 through a fifth wicket partnership of 70 between Simon Wood (57) and skipper James Caine (26).

Then, reduced to 113-8, a ninth wickets partnership of 49 between Danny Caine (34) and Yannick Parker (23) took Saundersfoot to a total of 174 before being dismissed.

Steve Lewis took 4-54 and skipper Robert Williams 3-25.

Lawrenny also started badly losing five wickets for just 32 runs but James Buckle (36) and Ian Jenkins (31no) made the total more respectable in a sixth wickets partnership of 74, before Lawrenny were dismissed for 115.

Danny Caine took 4-25 and David Parcell 3-21.

St Ishmaels rattled up 260 -4 away to Herbrandston, following a top quality knock by Jonathan Pawlett who scored 147, with 20 fours and two sixes before being caught by Kristan Bennett off the bowling of Stephen Bennett.

He was supported in a third wickets partnership of 181 by Andrew Palmer with 75, including 11 fours and one six.

Stephen Bennett took two of the wickets to fall.

Although Kristan Bennett scored 27, with Andrew Williams taking 3-26 and James Salter 3-0, Herbie were bowled out for 79, to give Tish a massive winning margin of 181 runs.

Narberth had a difficult trip away to Haverfordwest where David Davies (80) and Daniel Field (46) led Haverfordwest to a total 203-8. There were two wickets each for Kyle Quartermaine, his brother Ben and Ben Hughes.

In reply, Narberth were bowled out for 133. Teenager Jordan Howell was the leading scorer with 24, as he was in the match at home to Haverfordwest earlier in the season, supported by Ben Hughes (20).

Spinner Clive Tucker took 3-33 and paceman David Davies 3-13 for Haverfordwest.

Division Two

Haverfordwest Seconds have jumped up to second place after defeating Pembroke Dock away by 186 runs.

The visitors scored 269-5, with Danny Potter hitting 130 including four sixes and 17 fours, supported by Nigel Delaney (49) and Stephen Phillips (44).

Although Jake Davies (34) proved a stumbling block to the visitors, Josh Wilment took 4-30, supported by Simon Williams and Nigel Morgan with two wickets each and the Dock were bowled out for 83.

Carew Seconds have slipped to second place after drawing away to Johnston who scored 186-6 with John Summons leading the way with 45, supported by Ross Dewstowe with 31 not out.

James Hinchcliffe scored 50 and Haydn Shapcott 48 and skipper Christian Phillips supported with 25. Consequently, Carew Seconds were just six runs short of victory, when the game ended, with the visitors on a total of 181-9.

Lee Summons took 4-55 for the Johnston team.

Cresselly Seconds had a six wickets win at home to Stackpole, who were held to 193-9. Josh Davies scored 83 for the visitors, supported by Simon Cole with 38 and John Williams with 32.

Sam Harts took three wickets for the visitors, with Bobby Webb and Mathew Lewis picking up two wickets each.

Quality batting by Nick Davies who scored 64, with seven fours and three sixes, Scott Arthur with 41, followed up by an unbroken fifth wicket partnership, between Iwan Izzard (44no) and Huw Evans (31no) took Cresselly Seconds tot a total of 194-4.

Richard MacKay had three wickets for the visitors.

Whitland Seconds were dismissed for 101 away to Division Two leaders Llangwm.

Carl Smith, batting at number eight scored a brisk 32 with one six and five fours and 15 year old Iwan Bevan was 19 not out.

Darren Brick (4-38) did the early damage for Llangwm, who won by seven wickets upon reaching 103-3.

Andrew Harries had the bulk of the runs with 56, supported by William Beresford (19).

Division Three

League leaders Pembroke, have established a lead of 36 points over second place Llanrhian, after defeating Llanrhian by 126 runs in the top of the table clash.

Pembroke skipper Sean Powell had an outstanding innings of 110 and was the major contributor to the Pembroke total of 221-7.

Chris Arundel took 3-37 for Llanrhian and then scored 23 to back up Stuart Morris who scored 31 in a Llanrhian total of 95 all out.

The evergreen Kevin Jenkins took 4-25 for the visitors and skipper Sean Powell completed an excellent all round match by taking 3-9.

Narberth Seconds had a good four wickets win at home to Lamphey, after recovering from 53-6 in the run chase, to reach a winning total of 123 without further loss.

Lamphey had scored 121 before being dismissed with skipper Jason Oatley being the leading scorer on 21. Although five other batsmen reached double figures they were not allowed to progress much further by the Narberth bowlers.

The experienced Nick Evans took 4-23 with his crafty spinners for the Narberth team, who lost six wickets quite quickly as Nick Shelmerdine took 5-15.

The recovery was led by all-rounder Mike Williams who smashed six sixes and five fours in an undefeated match winning knock of 72. Earlier Andrew Williams scored 21.

Kilgetty had a comfortable nine wickets win at home to Johnston Seconds after dismissing the visitors for 98. Neil Powling took 3-22 and Andrew Evans 3-16 as Simon Williams tried in vain to hold thing together for the visitors with 21.

A first wickets partnership of 90 set up the Kilgetty win, with Gareth Edwards scoring 57 and Peter Hall undefeated on 36.

Llechryd had an excellent 10 wickets win away to Carew Thirds after dismissing the home team for 117. Ben Evans scored 32 and Mark Hicks 26, but John Curran did the damage for the visitors with a 4-23 spell.

The young Curran then followed up his bowling with an excellent innings of 46 not out, with six fours and one six, along with Steve Smith (63no), who also hit six fours and one six.

The Crymych bandwagon may have come off the rails from recent results and the team suffered a five wickets defeat away to Fishguard, after being bowled out for 170.

Elgan Vittle scored 36 and Nitai Durey 35 as James Wade took 3-37 for Fishguard.

A fine all round innings by David Haynes with 83 not out laid the foundation for the Fishguard total of 173-5, backed up by Darren John with 21.

Spinner Rob Nicholas took 3-34 for Crymych.

Division Four

In the local derby played at St Florence, Cresselly Thirds had the better of a drawn game against Lawrenny Seconds, who could only reach 140-7 in reply to a Cresselly total of 177-8.

Shane Lewis top scored for the home team with 94, including 12 fours and one six, supported by Richard Arthur with 36, as Stephen Rees took 3-39 for the Lawrenny team.

Chris Buckle scored 35 and Stephen Rees 29 for the visitors, but with Philip James taking 3-25 and James Oakley 3-39, Lawrenny Seconds had to settle for a draw.

Llanrhian Seconds were bowled out for 94 away to Hundleton, with Rhys Price top scoring on 23, backed up by Richard Reed with 21.

Ben Adams took 3-20 for Hundleton, who won by nine wickets upon teaching 97-1, with Morgan Allen 31 not out and Jonathan Williams 21 not out.

Division Five

Division Five leaders St Clears had much the better of a drawn match at home to Herbrandston Seconds who reached 131-8 in reply to a Saints total of 247-6.

Nathan Evans struck 12 fours and one six in an accomplished innings of 102 not out, supported by Christopher Rodenhurst with 64 and Robert Morgan with 23.

Robert Hood (50) and Paul Nicholas (44) were the main contributors for the visitors, as Martin Thomas took 3-15.

Second placed Pembroke Seconds scored 222-5 at home to Fishguard Seconds after Spencer Harries scored 73, Don Patel 44 and Simons Smith-Wrench 40.

Sean O'Connor took 3-39 for the visitors, who were bowled out for 49 with Scott Delaney top scoring on 14.

Paul Rogers took 4-9 and there were two wickets each for Jack Harries together with David Jones.

Narberth Thirds moved up into fourth place in the table with a three wicket win at home to St Florence, who were bowled out for 103.

Barry Phillips was the leading scorer for the visitors with 36, as Ceri Davies took 4-11 for the Narberth team.

Opener Rob Simmons anchored the Narberth response with an undefeated 28 and Ceri Davies increased the run rate in his innings of 25.

Ben McDonnell and Mike Cackett each took two wickets for the visitors.

Whitland Thirds secured a draw away to Saundersfoot Seconds who had posted a total of 199-7.

Openers Sam Franklin (73) with 13 fours and one six and Chris Hawkes (36) put on 125 for the first wicket, before Gwynne Phillips took 5-18 for the visitors and young spinner Gethin Benjamin picked up two wickets in support.

Two of the older heads Peter Wright and Gwynne Phillips both scored 50 in the Whitland reply of 129-3, as Sam Franklin took 3-23 for the Saundersfoot team.

Division Six

Stackpole Seconds scored 137-7 at home to Hundleton Seconds in the local derby, with Jake Seaton scoring 44 not out and Lewys Gibby 26 not out.

Paul Edwards took 4-33 for the visitors and then played the lead role in his innings of 60 as Hundleton Seconds won by eight wickets upon reaching 138-2.

He received excellent support from Steve Williams with 58 not out.

Lamphey Seconds were bowled out for 52 at home to local rivals, Pembroke Dock Seconds. Neil Hallett took 5-16 for the visitors and Andrew Wood, 4-35.

Dean Lawrence tried to hold the Lamphey innings together in his knock of 31.

Jason Griffiths then scored 26 not out in a Dock total of 53-1, which gave the visitors a nine wickets win.

Crymych Seconds had a nine wickets win at home to Burton Thirds after dismissing the visitors for 85, with Ioan Davies, Andrew Thomas and Charlie Howell each taking three wickets at minimum cast.

Young 14 year old Toby Hayman was the leading scorer for the visitors with 14.

Billy Gray (54no) and Charlie Howell (25no) had little trouble in reaching 89-1 in 15 overs, in the match sponsored by Tudur Lewis of Efailwen.
