Santa will be returning to Pembroke Castle for their annual Christmas Market this year, which will be running between Friday and Sunday, November 25 and 27.
The popular festive event usually welcomes about 10,000 visitors throughout the weekend, it is a popular addition to the festive season, and showcases products from Pembrokeshire and the surrounding areas.
Supported by Valero and Pembroke Town Council, the Christmas Market is a community event offering free admission to all visitors.
Castle manager Jon Williams said: “After the disappointment of losing two of the days because of bad weather last year, we are really looking forward to having a full and fun weekend.”
Pembroke Castle will be overflowing with Christmas cheer, the castle walls and towers lit up in bright colours, music and entertainment, and as ever Santa has agreed to be with us throughout the weekend.
There will be plenty of opportunities to purchase gifts for your friends and family (or just to treat yourself!) from a range of Welsh stalls selling jewellery, plants, artwork, local food and drink, and much more. Hot food and drinks will also be available during the event from a variety of catering stall and Pembroke Castle’s own café.
The Christmas Market will be open between 10 am and 8 pm on Friday, November 25. The Mayor of Pembroke will officially launch the event from 11 am followed by musical performances from the local school choirs throughout the day. The big arrival of Santa will be at 6.30, and will then hop on his sleigh and travel down Pembroke Main Street, and stop at Pembroke Town’s Christmas tree for gifts and carols.
The Christmas Market will then be open on Saturday, November 26, 10 am - 8 pm, and on Sunday, November 27, 10 am - 4 pm, and you can catch Santa in his Pembroke Castle grotto between 11 am and 4 pm on both days where you can meet Santa, deliver your Christmas lists and receive a gift. Visits to Santa’s Grotto will cost £1 per child and proceeds will go to charity.
There is no need to book, but if you would like to ensure your entry to the Christmas Market on the day, then you can get your free tickets from their website at www.pembrokecastle.co.uk/tickets.
