St. Govan's Inn A set the questions for the fifth week of the Pembroke and Pembroke Dock LVA quiz, and for the first time this series, there were no close results or surprises. A surprise did look on the cards when the visiting Alma B took a second round lead at the Station against the home B team, but could not sustain this and the home side went on to a comfortable win to remain unbeaten.
The leaders, Station A, travelled across town to the Naval Club and for the second week running were the night's highest scorers in a good win to also remain unbeaten. The First & Last maintained their impetus with victory at home against the Oak, whilst at the Golf Club, in the match between the league's two newcomers, the home side claimed their first win.
An enjoyable quiz at the Alma saw the home side go down to Cosh Brewery when the highlight was Carolyn's demonstration of the 'Dozy Doh', but to her disappointment, although technically correct, she failed to say the words Back to Back, so Cosh got the points and the win. The other match was at the Charlton where the A and B teams clashed, with the form team, the A, coming out on top.
Thus the week's results were: Station B 83 Alma B 51; Naval Club 52 Station A 86; First & Last 70 Oak 54; Charlton B 62 Charlton A 71; Alma A 55 Cosh Brewery 69 and Golf Club 72 St. Govan's B 47.
These latest results leave the Station A three points ahead on 15, with the First & Last, Charlton A and the Station B (with a game in hand) on 12 points, Cosh Brewery move up to fifth and Alma A slip to sixth, both on nine points.
