Round seven of the LVA Quiz saw the league leaders Alma B travel to second place Cosh Brewery, with the rest of the chasing pack hoping the home team could take their unbeaten tag. Alas, the result was an anti-climax, with the visitors winning with ease.
The Charlton A travelled to St. Govan's in the wake of their B team's hammering last week and came away convincing winners, being the week's joint top scorers with the Alma B.
The Station A travelled to Pembroke to play the Oak and came away licking their wounds after suffering a 13-point loss, whilst their B team maintained their winning ways with a nine-point victory over the Naval Club, who played catch-up most of the quiz and couldn't quite crack the six-pointers in the final round.
The fifth match of the night saw the First and Last travel yet again, this time to the Charlton B, returning home with nothing after a nine-point defeat. This all means the Alma B are racing ahead of a pack of five teams now nine points adrift, including the Charlton B team, who have a game in hand and still have to play the leaders.
Results for the week were: St. Govan's 55 Charlton A 78; Charlton B 74 First and Last 65; Oak 70 Station A 57; Station B 74 Naval Club 65; Cosh Brewery 55 Alma B 78.
