During May and June of this year, The Pembrokeshire Peloton Team and Friends successfully completed what is believed to be the first ever 'Pembrokeshire Tri Way Challenge'. This was their third and most demanding fund- raising event so far. Having already cycled round Dyfed and Powys in 2004 and the length of France in 2006, the team decided upon new physical challenges to accompany their cycling. On May 12, 27 riders from Pembrokeshire and Carmarthenshire met at St. Dogmaels, and cycled along the roads following the coastal path finishing in Amroth that same day covering a distance of 111 miles.

Four days later, members of the team returned to St. Dogmaels with backpacks and tents and walked the entire coastal path finishing in Amroth 11 days later. They averaged 19 miles a day (including the evening walks to and from the finest Pembrokeshire pubs!).

Three weeks later, members took their blistered feet and bandy legs to Haverfordwest Swimming Pool where they swam as a relay the equivalent nautical distance from St. Dogmaels to Amroth, covering over 68 miles in one evening.

The group raised in excess of £5,000 for local cancer and chidren's charities, bringing their fund- raising total to over £65,000.

Many thanks go to all the people who took part, including those who gave their free time to assist with marshalling, transport provision of food and drink etc.

A special thanks go to Haverfordwest Station Self Drive, Bryan Jones, of Ashmole & Co, for his support, management and staff at The Haverfordwest Swimming Pool, everyone at Pencarnan Farm, St. Davids, Tenby Cycle Club, Haverfordwest Tri Club juniors and seniors, Tenby Round Table, all of the businesses, organisations and people who kindly sponsored the events.

Event organisers Anthony Mattick and Ian Evans have been told by peloton members and partners to keep their silly ideas to themselves when mention is made of peloton four!
