Residents and business people in Tenby are being urged to complete and return surveys on this year's pedestrianisation experiment in the walled town. The surveys will be used to consider the future of the pedestrianisation scheme in Tenby. This year, Pembrokeshire County Council has employed an external consultant to carry out research on the authority's behalf. The company, Wavehill Consulting, sent out the surveys at the end of last week to all households and businesses in Tenby and the surrounding area, including Caldey, Penally and St. Mary Out Liberty. They should be returned by September 27 in the pre-paid envelopes enclosed. The residents' survey will be followed up by on- street surveys in Tenby, while a sample of businesses who don't return the questionnaires will be contacted and asked to conduct a telephone survey. Wavehill Consulting also carried out two other pieces of research for the council during the pedestrianisation period this year. They completed an on-street survey of visitors to Tenby, and a separate survey of people using the Park and Ride bus service. The company is also planning to conduct one-to- one interviews with stakeholders involved in the pedestrianisation experiment.
