On Friday, Greenhill Secondary School, Tenby Junior and Infant School completed their sixth annual Tour De Tenby around the streets of Tenby.

The three schools have continued to promote and raise the profile of cycling as a healthy and sustainable way of getting to school.

The Mayor, Clr. Trevor Hallett, set the cyclists on their way, with the more confident riders completing route one and cycling the streets of Tenby with a refreshment break at the golf club provided by the Junior School PTA, before heading back to school.

The Year 2 and some Year 3 children completed route two, where the children cycled to Greenhill, followed by laps of the playground at Greenhill, before it was back to complete a coned course at the Junior School. Staff and parents supported, with some cycling and others marshalling.

Thanks to Bike Mobility and Owen Roberts, all pupils were given the opportunity to cycle, with one pupil from the Junior School completing the course in her wheelchair on a bike powered by Howard Yeates, the Sustrans officer for Pembrokeshire.

The schools would like to say a big thank you to all who were involved with the organisation, including the police and PCSOs, Greenhill staff, Tenby Junior staff and parents, Infant School staff and parents, Sustrans officer Howard Yeates and Sustran bike leaders, Bike Mobility and Owen Roberts, Paul Smith, Pembrokeshire County Council and colleagues, and Tenby's harbourmaster Matt Broadhurst.
