The Pembroke and District Male Voice Choir annual junior school choir competition took place recently when adjudicators Frank Harries (choir chairman) and Joan Lewis (soprano soloist) had the unenviable task of deciding which of the six choirs taking part should be placed.

The competition has been running for 16 years to date and this year, Cosheston and Orielton were welcomed back to compete against Sageston, Priory, Pembroke Dock and Pennar.

Unfortunately, Stackploe and Golden Grove were unable to take part on this occasion.

Eventual winners were Pennar, with Sageston second and Orielton third.

The three winners will join P&DMVC in the annual Christian Aid concert at St. Andrews, Bush Street, Pembroke Dock, 7 pm, on Thursday, May 14.

Additionally, Pennar have been invited to sing with P&DMVC again in the St. David's Cathedral concert on Saturday, June 13, in support of the Shalom Hospice and at Monkton Priory Church in P&DMVC's annual Christmas concert on Tuesday, December 15.

Congratulations to the winners, commiserations too, and gratitude to the judges are due all round.
