Sir,
I would like to congratulate the person who sprayed paint on unstable paving stones in Narberth as a warning to pedestrians. The pavings were laid originally in a very inappropriate and shoddy manner for an area of moderately high rainfall and have been causing problems ever since.
Last Monday, February 12, I stepped on a loose paving outside Friday's Child in Market Square and got wet feet and muddy water all up my trouser legs (certainly not the first time this has happened). I was lucky that my back leg didn't catch on the raised corner, though I have nearly tripped over on several occasions. This paving is still loose today, Saturday, February 17, so I don't know who, according to your report, went round the town checking and putting everything right. If the police are worried about the defacing of pavements, I think they would be better employed finding out who litters the pavements with chewing gum - visible all round the town 12 months of the year.
Angela Walker, Narberth.
