Pembrokeshire-based charity, Paul Sartori Hospice at Home - who provide end-of-life care to local families has once again received generous support from The James Tudor Foundation.

The Foundation has recently been awarded an unrestricted grant which will be paid over 3 years to help fund the charity’s vital end-of-life care services in the county. This funding is a welcome gift and comes at a time where costs are increasing in a challenging landscape. The grant award of £46,364 will be paid over 3 years.

The new Chief Executive Officer, Laura Hugman, said: “At this time where funding and funding partnerships are challenging, we are very grateful to The James Tudor Foundation in helping us to achieve our aims and passion for supporting and bringing reassurance to local families who need us.

“Our team uphold the highest standards at end-of-life - delivering compassionate care, prioritising dignity and quality of life. We ensure that patients and families can receive prompt assistance without delays.”

Judith Williams, Grant Development Officer at Paul Sartori Hospice at Home, expressed the charity’s gratitude: “We are incredibly thankful to The James Tudor Foundation for their continued generosity. Their support helps us maintain our nursing service, which is a lifeline for many families facing end-of-life care challenges.”

The James Tudor Foundation is an independent grantmaker supporting a diverse range of physical health and mental health charities across the UK and internationally.

Laura Serratrice, Chief Executive of The James Tudor Foundation said: “The Foundation has been delighted to support Paul Sartori Hospice at Home over the past three years. While our funding initially focused on a specific area of the hospice’s work, over time we have come to appreciate that unrestricted, multi-year funding is the most meaningful support we can offer.

“Alongside this, we have worked to keep our application process as light-touch as possible and do not require any bespoke reporting, recognising how stretched fundraising teams are in the current challenging climate. We hope more funders will consider working in this way in future — not only because it benefits grant recipients, but because it also makes better use of funders’ own resources.

We know that hospice staff are the experts in their field, and we hope this type of flexible funding will afford them greater freedom and agility as they navigate very difficult times. We greatly value our partnership with Paul Sartori Hospice at Home and the profoundly human impact they have on people at the most challenging moments of their lives. It is a privilege to work alongside the hospice.”
