The audience at the weekend concert starring Paul Potts, Bella Voce and Talfan Jenkins were on their feet at the end of the night shouting for more.

A thoroughly enjoyable night of top musical entertainment had wowed all with the audience, with the Rotary Club of Narberth and Whitland receiving a lot of positive feedback from the appreciative audience.

The show staged at Folly Farm raised some £4,000 for the charities supported on the night, which were - Paul Sartori Hospice, End Polio Now, Treat Trust Wales and the Rotary Club of Narberth and Whitland for their charitable activities in the year ahead.

“After performing at Opera City, Tokyo and Fiji in the days before the concert we were proud to have Paul find time in his very busy schedule to come to Folly Farm before leaving for his tour of Germany and Denmark next week,” said concert organiser, Rotarian John Hughes.

“We were also delighted to have Bella Voce, and saxophonist Talfan Jenkins performing, and they made Pembrokeshire proud.

“At the end of the evening the audience were on their feet showing their appreciation for a great night’s entertainment, which made all the hard work all worthwhile.”

Paul had sung a range of popular Tenor songs, such as ‘Caruso’ and Neapolitan favourites ‘Torna a Sorriento’ and ‘O Sole Mio’ to more contemporary songs such as ‘Moon River’, ‘What a Wonderful World’ and ‘Bring Him Home’ the powerful anthem from Les Miserables’.

The first half was beautifully brought to an end with the fantastic duet of ‘The Prayer’ sung by Paul Potts and Sarah Benbow, Soprano and Musical Director of Bella Voce, whilst the second half ended with Paul Potts singing the Aria that brought him to fame ‘Nessun Dorma’ by Puccini.

Bella Voce, directed by Sarah Benbow also sang a broad spectrum of songs superbly from ‘Bridge Over Troubled Water’, ‘Pure imagination’ and ‘Can’t Help Loving That Man of Mine’ beautifully accompanied by Talfan Jenkins on the saxophone, to ‘Nella Fantasia’ and Welsh classic ‘Calon Lan’ which had the audience again on their feet at the end of their set

At the interval, President of the Rotary Club of Narberth and Whitland, Elaine Bradbury thanked everyone who had contributed to the evening’s success - the performers and the audience; the sponsors - Folly Farm, Carew Inn, Ocky White, Plas Hyfryd Hotel and Lloyd’s Jewellers, Pembroke Dock; the charities supported; the local media for publicising the event, - indeed everyone that helped make the evening such a success to support the three great charities and allow the Rotary Club of Narberth and Whitland to continue their good work in the year ahead.
