CEREDIGION Penfro MS Paul Davies has welcomed the Welsh Government's announcement of a £2million Croeso i Bawb scheme to improve accessibility for disabled people at tourism and hospitality businesses.

Davies, who is also the Conservative Shadow Minister for the Welsh Language, Culture, Tourism and Sport, said:

“Funding to help tourism and hospitality businesses improve accessibility is welcome, so even more people can access Wales’ tourism offer, regardless of their needs or circumstances.”

However, he added, “this same Plaid Cymru Welsh Government wants to penalise these businesses with a tourism tax that will increase costs for visitors and make our tourism industry less competitive.

“Welsh Government should be backing our tourism economy, not increasing costs and creating further economic uncertainty.”
