Charity cyclists from Tenby have been given a pat on the back for raising money and putting the town on the map at the same time.
Speaking at Tuesday night’s meeting of Tenby Town Council, Clr. Mrs. Christine Brown praised members of Tenby Aces who had taken part in a fundraiser for Wales Air Ambulance, cycling 200 miles from Caernarfon to the town on Saturday, raising over £13,000.
Aces members, husband and wife Mike and Paula Smith, who were critically injured in a crash before Christmas, and airlifted to hospital, were among the crowd that greeted the cyclists into Tudor Square.
“Well done to the Aces for doing what they’re doing, it was quite an achievement,” she told her colleagues.
“Everything they do they do wearing their Tenby Aces shirts and jackets, so it promotes the town too,” added Clr. Mrs. Brown.
“It’s fabulous the work they do promoting health and also fundraising too,” added the Mayor, Clr. Laurence Blackhall.
