Everybody loves a party and there was a fabulous party at the Carew Youth Club on Friday night, not quite bonfire night, but close enough!
First of all, a huge thank you must go to all the leaders who put in so much hard work beforehand to prepare lots of games for everyone to play. Funny how the oldest games are always the best though, isn't it! Bobbing apples - well our members must have been taking masterclasses in it.
They were so good we had to try and make it harder and harder, less apples, more water, bigger apples - there was not much got passed them (they must all have large mouths!). They all got thoroughly soaked, too - good job we had plenty of towels on hand. They were also really brave, as they had to stick their hands in tubs of goodness knows what and try to guess what was in there - which was spiders, rice, pasta for brains and, oh yes, a fake hand - nice! There was also a quiz and some hoopla throwing.
Everyone then tucked into hot dogs and amazing firework cup cakes (courtesy of Janet) with chocolate finger sparklers.
The evening was finished off with a firework display, and whilst it may have only been short, it was amazing - we went for quality, not quantity! It was so nice to see young people having such a wonderful time and being so well behaved.
Just a reminder that there are still a few tickets left for the pantomime trip in January. Any member wanting tickets, please contact Gwen Head. Gwen would also like to let everyone know that if you do not pay your £5 deposit by today (Friday), she is going to take your name off the list - you have been warned!
The club is visiting the Control Tower tonight (Friday) for an evening of remembrance; this is always an interesting and enjoyable evening. Our thanks to Mrs. Mandy Scourfield, Carew Inn, who has kindly offered to provide chips for the evening.
