Tenby councillors are set to go on a walkabout of the town's streets in order to review the current parking regulations. Town and County Clr. Mike Evans and secretary of the Tenby Walled Town Residents Association (TWTRA), Alistair Mackay, have already met with Pembrokeshire County Council traffic manager, John Price, to highlight areas where they believe changes to the current regulations can be made. One of the main suggestions put forward was to replace double yellow lines with single yellow lines in order to allow residents to park their cars overnight on certain streets where an obstruction would not be caused. The calls for councillors to review the situation for themselves comes as the decriminalisation of parking is due to come into effect in the town in April. Discussing the situation at Tuesday night's meeting of the town council, Deputy Mayor, Clr. John Griffiths, believed that a check on the width of some streets should also be conducted before single yellow lines were introduced, as it may prove problematic for wide vehicles, such as fire engines and refuse collection lorries, to get by should cars be parked there.
