Sir,

I was pleased to read the letter from M. MacDougall in last Friday's Observer and to know that I am not alone in realising that if the proposed parking ban goes ahead at The Glen, then we will all be denied access to the Glen Beach and coast path according to the state of the tide.

Although part of the Pembs. Coast National Park, it will virtually become a private beach for the residents of The Glen. If the properties were terraced houses, no-one would begrudge them permit parking for which they would pay. But these properties have their own grounds, most with multiple space parking.

The very muddy lay-by has room for only three or four cars. Perhaps this could be extended or grass verges at the roadside removed to widen the road.

As beaches in the National Park should be for the enjoyment of us all, I hope readers will register their objections to the proposal by writing to Ian Westley, Director of Transportation and Environment, County Hall, Haverfordwest, before April 12.

B. Stredder,

Marsh Road,

Tenby.
