Sir,
Last Friday there were two cars parked in the two residents' parking bays opposite where I live. So I parked my car in the adjoining, non-occupied, new parking bay in Queen's Parade. The next day I was utterly surprised when a traffic warden booked me!
When I went to Tenby Police Station to complain, the police officer there said that as my car parking permit shows Trafalgar Road, it only covers permitted parking in the said area.
I propose that the £27 fee per annum ought to allow parking in any residential parking bays throughout the district, i.e. Pembrokeshire.
Should the council continue to consider that the named street-of-residence only covers parking there, I have gathered that the general consensus of opinion is that each individual car-slot ought to be identified with a car registration code for each paid-for car. This would give a guaranteed form of parking within an occupied street.
I object having to pay out a further £30, after giving £27 to park my car on our streets.
Gary S. Phillips,
Longhirst,
Church Park,
Trafalgar Road,
Tenby.
