Parking issues will again be a priority for the Narberth Neighbourhood Policing Team this month.

At the Police and Communities Together (PACT) meeting, the issue was again highlighted by residents.

Officers and a traffic warden have issued about 70 parking tickets since the last meeting, but the problem seems to be continuing.

PCSO Dave Henry said: "We are enforcing parking when we can, but the simplest solution to the problem is for people to obey the parking restrictions.

"There is plenty of free parking in the town and residents and visitors are being encouraged to use these facilities or face a fine."

The meeting was informed that from the recent NPT Surgery visit to Kilgetty, residents are once again concerned that there is an increase in anti-social behaviour of children congregating in the streets and by the bus shelter at Carmarthen Road.

This is usually late on and in some instances past midnight. They noted that PCSO Henry was regularly on foot patrol engaging the youngsters, which maintained law and order, but stated that the trouble started when he was gone.

The team said there were positive projects in the pipeline to give the youths of the area something else to concentrate on, but while these were in development, increased patrols of the area would take place.

The next Narberth PACT meeting is being held on Tuesday, October 6, at 7 pm, at the Bloomfield Community Centre, Narberth - everyone is welcome to attend.
