A decision on whether night-firing at the MOD's Manorbier range can be recommenced after 30 years has been delayed. The development management committee of the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority was due to discuss the MOD application at their meeting in Pembroke Dock on Wednesday morning. However, the authority has decided to defer its verdict on the application until a later date. "The Park Authority has asked the MOD if any research has been done, or if there is any evidence produced, on the impact of night firing of missiles at other ranges," said an NP spokesperson, adding that the authority had commissioned an independent noise consultant to review information submitted. "The consultant will be reporting back and information will be given when the development management committee discusses the application," stated the spokesperson. See also Letters page
