Police have issued a warning to parents this week if their children ride their bikes after dark.
Officers are urging parents to ensure that if their children ride their bicycles after dark they wear appropriate light or reflective clothing and their bikes are fitted with front and rear lamps.
"It is apparent that a number of children are riding after dark with no lights and are wearing dark clothing, which makes them difficult to see," said a police spokesman this week.
"They are putting themselves at a real risk of being involved in an accident."
