Carew Castle will be the venue for a special charity ‘paranormal investigation’ in May, with funds raised from the event being donated to ‘Cash for Kids’.
“We would like to offer locals to this amazing location, the opportunity of joining us on this investigation,” said Christina Reddish, founder and co-owner of private paranormal investigatory group Gate Keepers Paranormal.
“What makes us slightly different is we are not a company but a group, and the main members (hosts) have a passion and volunteer their time equipment and own money to ensure all of our guests have an opportunity to experience what it is like to be a paranormal investigator for the night using equipment that they may have seen on TV and gain a better understanding of the world of paranormal (as not seen on TV!),” she continued.
According to the ‘Great’Castles’ website Carew Castle - besieged and battered during the English Civil War - was severely damaged and subsequently left to slowly pass into a romantic ruin - however, the castle still serves as home to a large population of bats, as well as a few ghostly spirits!
Gate Keepers Paranormal are a non for profit group, who are committed to raising money for UK based charities, with all monies going directly to the chosen charity.
To date they have hosted investigations at the following locations to name but a few: Abbey House museum, Leeds; 30 East Drive, Pontefract; Birmingham Steelhouse Lockup; Todmorden Unitarian Church; Armley Mills; Thackray Medical Museum; Bodmin Jail.
“All of the above locations have recognised our vision, and have waivered or reduced their fees to allow us to maximised donations to charity,” explained Christina.
“To date we have raised over £7,000 for different charities both national and local
“Gate Keepers Paranormal, not only are representing ourselves, but also the charity that we are raising funds for on the night.”
The event will take place on Saturday, May 4, starting at 8 pm, going through to the early hours, finishing at 1 am.
