A YOUNG Tenby school pupil was delighted to receive a response from Buckingham Palace recently after writing to the Queen to congratulate her on her Diamond Jubilee.

Ten-year-old Cerys Luly, a pupil at Tenby Junior School, wrote to the Queen to wish her all the best in celebrating 60 years on the throne.

Cerys also wished the Duke of Edinburgh a speedy recovery from his illness at the time in her card.

A letter from the Palace thanked Cerys for her correspondence and said that the Queen had been touched by the wonderful response to her Jubilee, and that Her Majesty greatly appreciated the care taken to make such a lovely card for her.
