Vandals have attacked one of Tenby's most prominent monuments.
Prince Albert on Castle Hill has been daubed with yellow paint.
A cannon was also given a yellow coating in the incident which is believed to have occurred sometime between 1 pm on Tuesday and 12 noon on Wednesday.
Said the town's Mayor, Clr. Mrs. Caroline Thomas, at a meeting of the town council on Wednesday night: "Albert's face has been disfigured and his sword and a cannon painted yellow. We've got to find someway of cleaning it up."
Members agreed to contact Pembrokeshire County Council with a view to approaching CADW about the matter.
As we were going to press yesterday (Thursday), police said they were appealing for anyone with any information as to the identity of the vandals to contact them on 842303.
