The countdown is well and truly on for one of Tenby's summer entertainment highlights. The first Tenby Round Table Summer Spectacular takes place on Sunday, July 24, and a packed programme of entertainments and attractions is once again in store. Once again, the main sponsors of the event are Kiln Park Holiday Centre and Tenby Round Table are grateful for their continued support. As Table chairman Paul Morris explained, the format for the events will be very similar to recent years. "People seem to enjoy the programmes that we have put together in the recent past, so we don't really want to change a popular format. In the afternoon we will have a range of family attractions on offer and from the early evening onwards there will be live music and other entertainments." After the event kicks off at 3 pm, there will be clowning around from Chunkie Russell, the ever- popular Bradley Bear Show from Kiln Park, a modern dance group and the juggling skills of Saul Baum. Ensuring the afternoon goes with a swing will be popular DJ Wacky Wayne Wharton who has become a Spectaculars regular. As the evening approaches, the entertainments will take on a slightly different flavour. "Our colleagues from HM Coastguard will be on hand to undertake a mock rescue and the Tenby Lifeboat will launch before the arrival of the Honda Dreamteam Stunt Aeroplane with Will Curtis in the cockpit. Last year's display was probably one of the best we have seen in Tenby for a number of years, so we are delighted to see the Honda team return," Paul said. Two brand new Summer Event bands, Strictly Business and The Lovehandles, will provide the live music for the first event. Both have played in Tenby venues before and are looking forward to playing in front of the Spectacular crowds. As usual, the festivities will be brought to a fitting climax by the usual stunning fireworks display from the end of the harbour brought to us by Flameburst FX. "Tablers have worked hard to deliver two more high quality Spectaculars, so we are hoping that the recent spell of superb summer sunshine keeps going for a bit longer. We are grateful to all local businesses who have supported us so well once again in the form of financial and other support: without their continued backing there is no doubt that the events could not continue in their current form," Paul stressed. The first Tenby Round Table Summer Spectacular takes place on Sunday, July 24, and the second, two weeks later on August 7. All entertainments operate in and around the Tenby Harbour area and Tablers are grateful for the patience and understanding of local residents and businesses during the course of the events. "All proceeds from our events go to charities and other good causes in our locality. This is Tenby Round Table's 50th Charter year, so all members are determined that the events are a great success and raise as much money as possible," Paul concluded.
