Over the May Bank Holiday weekend, a group of vintage tractor enthusiasts travelled to Southern Ireland to take part in a charity tractor run.

A total of 83 tractors made the trip, travelling via Irish Ferries, Pembroke Dock, and Stena Line, Fishguard, on Friday and Saturday and returning on Monday.

This was part of an annual exchange run with the Irish and the fourth time for the Welsh to visit Ireland since the first trip back in 2012

This year, the charity chosen by our Irish hosts was Marine Watch Wexford, which is a voluntary organisation that works to reduce a high rate of suicides and drowning accidents in the area. Proceeds to the charity are in excess of 6,000 euros.

Event organiser and chairman of the Welsh/Irish exchange event, Hywel Mason said: “I would like to thank all of the tractor drivers for supporting the event, also everyone at Irish Ferries and Stena Line for their help and co-operation.”
