Over 640 Christmas trees have been collected following this year’s free kerbside service carried out between Pembrokeshire County Council and Frame.
It’s the second year Pembrokeshire County Council has teamed up with the social enterprise to carry out the collections of real Christmas trees.
Approximately 5,360kg were collected to be shredded and sent for composting.
Training was also provided in the use of machinery to staff member Mark Whitby and Frame participants Maurice Wade and Jack Surtees as part of the partnership.
“Once again, the service has proved extremely popular,” said Pembrokeshire County Council cabinet member for the environment, Clr. Cris Tomos.
“We’ve collected approximately 140 more trees this year, an increase of around 50 per cent and helped three people receive training so it benefits more than the environment.”
Pictured with Clr. Tomos are Neil Hulme, operations manager at Frame; Pembrokeshire Machinery Ring LANTRA instructor, Mark Whitby, Jack Surtees and Maurice Wade (who received their LANTRA certificates this year) and last year’s LANTRA recipients Alex Heeps, Matthew King.
