More than fifty hardy dippers took to the sea on New Year’s Day for Angle’s annual swim.

Raising funds for Paul Sartori and the Wales Air Ambulance, there was an ‘absolutely fantastic’ turnout on the day said organiser Joanne Lutwyche.

“We raised a whopping £860, plus we have some online donations and there are a few donations that still need to come in,” she said.

“It went really well, we had 51 in the water, a really good turnout, up from 47 last year.

“There was no theme, it was just basically people turning up and taking part. It was cold, very cold, but everyone who went to the water staying in and a few of them staying longer than expected.

“It’s not just the amount of swimmers that go in but the supporters; it was a cold day and we did get a really heavy rain shower but people were still happy to come and cheer along. There were about 200 supporters, the car park was full - it was like a summer’s day!”
