Be a part of the artistic rejuvenation of Haverfordwest
Breakout Gallery returns to Haverfordwest for a fourth year with its latest ‘Breakout Exhibition’ where artwork is displayed in outdoor public locations across Haverfordwest for all to see. In 2018 the exhibition saw 70 pieces of artwork by over 40 separate Pembrokeshire based artists decorate the town over the summer period with the theme ‘Brighter Futures’. This year the theme for the exhibition is ‘New Beginnings’ and the chosen artists will be tasked with producing artwork relating to the theme for display. The objectives are to encourage positivity and a sense of a fresh start to residents and visitors alike, whilst providing opportunities for artists to display their work in a very unique way.
For over a year now, coronavirus has disrupted life and stripped so many people of joy and splendor. Experiences like art exhibitions have been merely a dream of the past, at a time when the creative and soul nourishing inspiration that art can bring would benefit everyone. It is a time for healing, for expressions of passion and new beginnings as we edge towards summer and a sense of normality. The organisers want Breakout 2021 to embody this spirit to reinvigorate both the visual vibe of Haverfordwest and all those who pass through the town.
The Breakout Exhibition is fortunate enough to be located outdoors around Haverfordwest and therefore can still operate with coronavirus restrictions in place, however some changes have had to be made to the exhibition including the possibility of not being able to host opening or closing events as in previous years. Regardless of any changes, artwork will be on display around Haverfordwest this summer.
Applications are now open for Artists wanting to exhibit their work as well as volunteers who want to get involved and help bring the show to life.
