Mary had a very successful year which she illustrated with a selection of photos presented on the large screen in the function room of the Hotel Plas Hyfryd in front of an audience of invited guests, Rotarians and their partners.
Diners enjoyed an excellent three-course meal, before David was invited to receive the chain of office for the start of his 12 months in the chair. He thanked the club for the warm welcome he had received when he transferred from the Rotary Club of Fishguard and Goodwick into the Narberth and Whitland club, which now consists of 30 very active and committed Rotarians who enjoy each other’s company.
In turn, president David installed Tony Ensom, a retired surveyor, who also transferred into the club having attended several others in the locality before choosing Narberth and Whitland. Obviously, the club must be very appealing to newcomers. Tony will be the president-elect and he will take office to run the club in the Rotary year 2018-2019 starting in July.
The final official item on the agenda involved the presentation of the chain of office for president nominee Elaine Bradbury, who hopes to be president of the club in the Rotary year 2019-2020.
During the evening, the club was entertained musically by local talented siblings Talfan Jenkins (saxophone) and Siriol Jenkins (piano). Both are accomplished musicians who have regularly competed in the Rotary district competitions for young musicians. Siriol is studying music at Oxford University and there is every chance that Talfan will follow in her footsteps. The audience gave hearty and well-deserved applause at the end of their performance.
