Following the dejection after the large defeat at Maesteg the previous week, the Otters were elated after their visit to the Recreation Ground and produced a dazzling second half performance to run in seven tries.
There was little sign of their flurry of second half tries during the first half, although admittedly the Otters had the handicap of playing against a strong wind.
Nevertheless, Narberth opened the scoring with a try from winger Andrew Jones in the 12th minute. Fullback Gareth James came into the line after Simon Daniel broke from a scrum and threw a well-judged pass to Andrew Jones who went outside the covering defence to cross for an unconverted try.
For the first 10 minutes Tredegar had looked quite lively, particularly outside-half Daniel Roberts and he scored a penalty after 22 minutes to notch up Tredegar's only score of the match.
Andrew Jones scored his second try before the interval. Chris Macdonald picked up a loose ball inside the Narberth half and started a move, which was taken on by flanker Meurig Daniel. The Narberth back row had adopted a cohesive approach throughout the afternoon and Katilimoni Tuipulotu was in support. The Tongan international broke through the Tredegar defence and Andrew Jones was on his shoulder to take the ball over into the left corner for an unconverted try.
That completed the scoring for the first half, although both outside-halves, Daniel Roberts and Simon Daniel, were off target with penalties attempts.
Simon Daniel made no mistake with a penalty at the start of the second half to trigger the Narberth points spree. A charge down by centre Elgan Vittle enabled the Otters to counter-attack and Katilimoni Tuipulotu fed winger Nick Jones to go over for an unconverted try in the right corner.
Shortly afterwards, a break by Katilimoni Tuipulotu from a scrum released Chris Macdonald who barged over under the posts for a try converted by Simon Daniel.
Macdonald capped this try with his second following a diagonal run from a scrum to use his pace and power to cross in the right corner for an unconverted try.
Elgan Vittle appears to specialise in interceptions and he got his name on the score sheet following one such typical interception.
It was all one-way traffic now and a blindside move by Chris Macdonald enabled substitute flanker Mathew Evans to cross for a try after selling a huge dummy.
Elgan Vittle clinched his second after good work by Andrew Jones and finally Gareth James completed the scoring after more champagne rugby from the Otters.
The last four tries were all converted by fullback Gareth James who judged his place kicking well from the touchline in the windy conditions.
The improved second half performance showed that the Otters have been under-performing in a number of matches this season and this level of performance must be repeated in the weeks ahead, especially against the stronger teams in the division.
The back row functioned well, with Gareth Bennett proving an admirable deputy for Simon Davies who was injured early in the first half, Chris Macdonald had a good all round game and the wingers took their tries well.
Tomorrow (Saturday), Narberth face a difficult home test against Brynmawr.
Narberth fielded Gareth James, Nick Jones, Elgan Vittle, Andrew Bowen, Andrew Jones, Simon Daniel, Chris MacDonald, Fifitapuku Faletau (Alun Phillips), Simon Delaney, Shannon Guy (Barry Davies), Jamie Bohata, Jason Jennings, Meurig Daniel, Simon Davies (Gareth Bennett) (Mathew Evans) and Katilimoni Tuipulotu.
