Whitland's first team may be struggling at the foot of the first division of the Pembrokeshire League, yet their junior section continues to flourish as their latest result in the Ormond Youth Cup shows.
Not only did they ease their way into the next round, they did so courtesy of a total annihilation of their opponents, Stackpole/Lamphey.
Not even the combined youth sections of two clubs could halt the Borderers in their tracks as they invited the visitors to bat first and bowled them out for 41, with the solitary double figure score coming from the bat of Giuseppe Tremarco, who scored 11.
Aled Davies was the chief tormentor with the ball, taking 3-3, while Dan James took 3-6 and Scott Newton 2-15.
Whitland made no attempt to crawl to victory as they slammed off the runs in 3.2 overs, with Matthew Webb scoring an unbeaten 30 with six fours off just 16 balls, while Nathan Evans was seven not out at the close.
Narberth travelled to much-fancied Cresselly and came away with a memorable win.
Batting first, they scored a respectable 118-8, with Kyle Keane scoring 29 and Connor Lloyd the same amount. Owen Richards scored 20, with Tim Mills unbeaten on 14. Their score was bumped up by the home team conceding 21 wides, despite Jack Murphy taking 4-9.
Narberth's bowlers then took to working on the home team's batsmen as they dismissed them for 102, with only Sam Harts causing any real alarms by scoring 24.
Ryan Williams took 2-17 for the visitors, while Tim Mills took 2-25.
Meanwhile, in the game between Crymych and Fishguard, it was a good night for the Mountain Men as they won off the last ball.
Fishguard batted first away from home and scored 118-8, with Rhys Dalling scoring 29. Osian Wynn was the home team's best bowler with 4-15.
In reply, Crymych had Iolo Thomas's 61 to thank for seeing them over the line, together with Ben Grey's 17 not out, as they finally scrambled home, despite Dalling taking 2-14 and James Wade 2-38.
