Oriel Q Friends - the Friends of the Queens Hall Gallery in Narberth - are pleased to announce that, on September 23, the organisation became a charity.
Their status as a charity will provide more opportunities to raise funds, and, as a result, help to keep the gallery going for many years to come.
"Oriel Q is held in great regard by the art-loving public, and its reputation as a prestigious gallery extends far beyond the boundaries of Pembrokeshire," said Friends chair Jane Harrison. "However, keeping it running is an expensive business and a constant headache for its curator, Lynne Crompton, particularly in these difficult financial times.
"Oriel Q Friends exists for the purpose of finding extra money to maintain this fine gallery. It is hoped that our charitable status will make this pursuit more rewarding."
