Organisations that work to tackle antisocial behaviour (ASB) and youth offending in Dyfed-Powys will gather today (Friday)

They will discuss how they can be part of a £250,000 plan from Police and Crime Commissioner Christopher Salmon to cut ASB and youth crime across Pembrokeshire, Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion and Powys.

Mr. Salmon said: "The event is a chance for organisations to get the information they need from my team to create a formal proposal to provide services.

"My staff will outline our detailed objectives and outcomes and there will be an opportunity for networking amongst potential providers."

Mr. Salmon launched his plan to fund specialist ASB and youth offending services in December. Bids from potential service providers are open until February 27, with contracts due to be awarded by March 18.

Mr Salmon said: "I'm looking for innovative ideas to improve behaviour and keep communities safe. Bidding is open to any provider, including voluntary sector organisations, private providers, sports clubs, activity centres and others.

"We must deliver a service that's responsive to today's needs. I want to see a focus on improving behaviour and tackling the causes of antisocial behaviour. I want to see work with families and communities to ensure that young people have responsibility and respect."

Mr. Salmon's plan is part of a wider commissioning framework being formulated to support his strategic 2013-18 Dyfed-Powys Police and Crime Plan. It will feature commissioning plans for local justice, including work with partners in the criminal justice system, victims' services, restorative justice and reoffending.

The antisocial behaviour and youth offending engagement event will be held today, from 9.30 am - noon, at Dyfed-Powys Police HQ, Llangunnor, Carmarthen. More details: [email protected]">[email protected], 01267 226440.
