THE Swansea Accordion Orchestra will be travelling west on the M4 tomorrow (Saturday) to make a guest appearance at the Camrose Vintage Working Day event near Haverfordwest.
The orchestra prides itself on its versatility, playing anything from Tchaikovsky to Tom Jones, thanks mainly to their conductor, Con Phillips's, skilful musical arrangements.
Their style of music has a definite European flavour and is often described as very 'Strictly Come Dancing.'
Playing highlights for the orchestra have included coming runners-up at an International Music Festival in Limerick and playing in Rotterdam during the city's Cultural Capital of Europe celebrations.
They have performed at the National Assembly for Wales, St. David's Hall, Cardiff, and the magnificent Symphony Hall in Birmingham.
During 2008, the orchestra performed on the Maes at the National Eisteddfod in Cardiff and made their first appearance at the Kingsbridge Music Festival in Devon.
They are hoping to bring some much-needed sunshine to the audience at the Camrose event by including music from the sunnier climes of Italy, Spain and Latin America as part of their upbeat repertoire.
