Residents in Narberth are still concerned about what items are acceptable for recycling as part of Pembrokeshire County Council's Orange Bag Scheme, according to county councillor Wynne Evans. "I was still being asked at my recent surgery, regarding what can and cannot be recycled," he said this week. "Margarine and ice cream tubs cannot be recycled in orange bags; this is because these items are made from a much cheaper type of plastic, and there is no market at present to purchase this waste product, so these items should be put in the black bags," explained Clr. Evans. "Currently the collection for orange bags in Narberth town is approximately one hour before normal black bag collection times. "As a number of householders have purchased wheelie bins, the maximum size of the bins should be no more than 240 litres. I will again be in the town's High Street tomorrow (Saturday) morning to answer any questions on recycling issues," added Clr. Evans.
