An optician in Pembroke Dock is donating money from eye examinations during International Assistance Dogs Week (August 7-13) in aid of The Guide Dogs for the Blind Association.
Specsavers, located on Broad Street is donating £1 per eye examination carried out on August 8.
Gary Owen, store director of Specsavers in Pembroke Dock said: "Our staff are really enthusiastic about working with Guide Dogs. The support the charity offer is incredible and we're always in awe of guide dogs and can only imagine all the hard work that goes into training them."
Jessica Stickland from Guide Dogs said: "We're delighted to receive the support of Specsavers in Pembroke Dock and would like to thank everyone that is visiting the store for an eye examination.
"The money raised will support our work which helps people with sight loss enjoy the same freedom of movement as everybody else."
International Assistance Dogs Week was created to recognise all of the devoted hardworking assistance dogs, like guide dogs, who transform the lives of their partners. Through the funds pledged by Specsavers, it will be possible to pay the lifetime cost of five guide dogs, at £50,000 each.
