Residents of Tenby's Serpentine Road are to be consulted by Pembrokeshire County Council on the idea of making the route one-way, seeing the traffic flow from Heywood Lane to Narberth Road.

Tenby Town Council, along with representatives from the three schools in Heywood Lane, have met with local residents and county council officers on numerous occasions to try and come up with a solution to longstanding traffic and parking problems in the area.

In a letter to the town council on Tuesday night, the county council's traffic manager, Mr. John Price, said that the one-way proposal would be considered, but that a scheme involving the idea of a drop-off point on land adjacent to the Junior School would not be progressed.

Deputy Mayor, Clr. Mrs. Julie Evans, said that she welcomed a trial scheme.

"I think that a temporary pilot plan to see if a one-way system could work would be a good idea," she told her colleagues.
