Chris Brace, of Tenby, completed the first of two challenges last Sunday as he successfully completed the Cardiff 'survival of the fittest 10k obstacle course'.
Chris, pictured here at the finish line with his brother Gerald, told us that, although the race was advertised as a 10k, it was actually a 13k race because they had decided to incorporate the Millennium Stadium as part of the course, but running through the stadium was an excellent experience, so worth the extra 3k!
Said Chris: "It was a tough race because of the constant obstacles, 50 in all, which didn't allow you to get your breathing into any sort of rhythm and the obstacles just sap your energy very quickly, but it was a very good event and very well organised and I really enjoyed it.
"I must say a big thank you to Gerald, Simon Stanford and Elli Hill who joined me on the day and who all actually beat my own time, but their support was brilliant.
"I have the Liverpool marathon on Sunday which, although I have stiff legs at present, I am really looking forward to, and if anyone would like to kindly sponsor me, then please make cheques payable to the Gareth Scotcher Trust fund and post to Freepost RLYX-BJKS-XBSL, N. D. Toy and Partners Ltd, Tenby, SA70 7NG.
"Both Gerald and I are raising money for the trust fund and with your help we hope to raise over £2,000 between us in total."
