A J Osborne launches new marketing push for debut children’s book

Billy’s best friend is his pet rat, Ruffles. One day, Billy and his family go to the zoo, but little does Billy know that Ruffles has snuck into his bag to join the family’s outing. In the quirky, illustrated children’s book, ‘Ruffles’ Secret Day Out: A Children’s Story’ (published by AuthorHouse UK), Ruffles the rat spends an adventurous day at the zoo meeting other animals.

Inspired by her ‘three cheeky children’, author A. J. Osborne found healing through the creation of her debut children’s book. “Writing short children’s stories is one of my passions and having been ill for two years, I needed a focus to stimulate my mind,” she explains. “Writing ‘Ruffles’ Secret Day Out’ gave me the help that I needed to recuperate.”

An easy read full of amusing adventures and entertaining illustrations, ‘Ruffles’ Secret Day Out” takes young readers on a journey seen through both Billy and Ruffles’ eyes. From monkeys to bears, Ruffles gets to meet new animals while Billy gets to enjoy a day with his family.

Osborne hopes her work will inspire children to use their imaginations and read more. “I would like my readers to feel a part of the story, to feel involved and to have the child-like side come out of each person,” she says. “As we all grow up with a friend and want to explore the world around us to create memories and our own adventures using our own inquisitive side.”
