Wizards' Kingdom is a world hidden deep in the wilderness. Its population are looked after by the magic and wisdom of five very special wizards. Lord Torsk is the ruler of the whole kingdom, but his four counterparts, Zendal, Evilan, Crasmont and Mydar, protect the smaller cities under his command. Lord Torsk holds the Crystal Orb (a glass ball that contains the source of all the wizards' powers). Evilan turned bad and tried to overthrow the old sorcerer, but the other wizards closed ranks and he was stopped and banished. He returned to his own domain and magically created an army. This army consists of Kites (winged creatures about the size of a dog) and also Seekers (evil, dwarf-sized beasts that attack on foot). They can only speak in clicks and grunts, and Evilan is the only one who can talk to them, and they understand him. Evilan returned to Torsk once more, but brought the might of his army with him. This time he succeeded and captured the wizard, stealing the Orb and imprisoning Torsk in his own dungeon. The other warlocks were aware of their master's capture on this occasion, but things soon began to happen; and so the adventure begins... Wizards' Kingdom is penned by Rhondda Valley- born Colin R. Parsons. From a child he loved writing and won competitions at school. He has a short story published in an anthology called 'When Darkness Comes'. This, though, is his first children's book and his own children, inspired him to write it. They love mythical tales of wizards, dragons and goblins. "My youngest hated reading so I decided to write my own children's novel," said Colin."It is easy reading for nine years and older, but adults may also enjoy it." The author will be signing copies of Wizards' Kingdom at Tenby Bookshop, Tudor Square, tomorrow (Saturday) between 2 and 4 pm.
