Offensive images that appeared graffitied in a part of Tenby last Thursday (May 5) morning have been reported to Pembrokeshire County Council.

Swastikas have been spray-painted onto walls at the bottom of the ramp leading to The Glebe housing estate, and despite being reported to the local authority days ago, the images still remain today (May 10).

One local resident posted on social media: “This really isn’t the ‘Welcome to Tenby’ that anyone needs to see!”

Local councillors have raised concerns with policing teams regarding a spate of vandalism and graffiti across areas such as Tenby, Saundersfoot, Penally and Manorbier in recent months.

Graffiti being sprayed on walls and buildings around the coastal towns and beaches has been prominent of late, and back over the Christmas period, two juveniles were apprehended by local police after being caught suspected of causing criminal damage to the sea defences on one of Tenby’s beaches.

Pembrokeshire County Council maintenance staff went onto conduct a spruce-up of areas where offending graffiti had been sprayed, but despite warning issued by local police, the criminal damage has continued into 2022.

Anyone who needs to report anything in their area are asked to please contact police via their online reporting system at: https://orlo.uk/0oUGD or by calling 101.
