The successful story of Objective One was showcased at a public meeting at the Queen's Hall, Narberth, recently. Over 100 people visited the Pembrokeshire Objective One Forum, where they had the opportunity to discuss potential project ideas with experts in European funding from the Welsh European Funding Office and the Pembrokeshire Partnership's Secretariat. Many projects displayed the results of their Objective One projects, including the Milford Haven Port Authority and the National Trust. Their projects included the stunning Haven's Head business premises at Milford Docks and the restoration of Stackpole Quay to assist local fishermen. Other exhibitors gave details of Objective One grants available to businesses. Pembrokeshire County Council provided details of their business grant schemes to help the county's businesses expand and create new jobs. Arena Network explained what help they could provide to allow businesses to cut costs through improved environmental management and Finance Wales provided information on their various loan schemes. The Forum also saw the launch of Pembrokeshire County Council's Community Building Fund by Clr. John Allen-Mirehouse, the authority's deputy leader and cabinet member for economic development and regeneration. The chairman of the Pembrokeshire Partnership Management Board, Stephen Cole described the event as a great success. "The number of people attending is higher than ever, and the quality of debate has been excellent," he said.
