The death occurred peacefully at Withybush Hospital on Saturday, September 9, of Mrs. Josephine Booth, aged 86, formerly of Windy Ridge, Manorbier, and Bournville, Birmingham.
After the death of husband, Ivan Henry Booth, 23 years ago, she moved to where she had enjoyed so many family holidays. Firstly to Pendergast and then Manorbier.
Josephine took great pleasure in gardening and dress making and especially knitting. A devote Christian, she was a regular member of Deer Park Church, Tenby, and Home Church, Manorbier.
She will be sadly missed by Albert (brother), John and Robert (sons) and Karen (daughter-in-law). Her grandsons Tom, Jack and Matt have nothing but happy memories of their Nanna Booth.
Josephine’s funeral will take place at Parc Gwyn Crematorium, Narberth, 10.45 am, September 23.
In keeping with Josephine’s humour, mourners are asked not to wear black. Josephine always loved to see rainbows since they are a symbol of God’s message of hope.

The death occurred peacefully at his home on Monday, September 5, of Mr. Terry Loxton, of King Street, Pembroke Dock. He was 75.
The funeral took place yesterday (Thursday), with a service at St. John’s Church, Pembroke Dock, followed by interment at Llanion Cemetery.

Tenby
The funeral of Nesta Davies took place on Wednesday, September 7, at St. Mary’s Church, Tenby, followed by cremation at Parc Gwyn, Narberth. The services were conducted by the Rev. John Morgan.
Nesta passed away at Park House Nursing Home on August 22, aged 95 years. She had spent her whole life in Tenby working for many years in the family hotel on The Croft, before retiring to Merlins Gardens, where she and her sister Freda bought adjoining houses.
Nesta lived there until the autumn of last year when full-time care became necessary. She had spent the last months of her life at Park House.
Nesta was a kind and caring lady, well-known in Tenby and always interested in what was going on in the town and how her family and friends were getting on.
She was predeceased by her brother Dick and sister Freda, but is survived by her nephew Michael and his partner Rachel, her niece Joan and husband David and her family, cousin Joy and her family, plus many other family members and friends.
Principal mourners at the funeral were Michael and Rachel, nephew and partner; Joan and David, niece and husband; Andrea, Mark and Steve, great-niece, great-nephew and their father; cousin Joy, her sons Neil and Andrew, daughter-in-law Heidi, and grandchildren Thomas and Martha.
The bearers were her great-nephew Mark, her cousin’s sons Neil and Andrew, and family friend Robert.

Mrs. Mecca Murphy passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, September 9, aged 87 years.
Beloved wife of the late Jim, she was formerly of Monti’s Café, Dimond Street, Pembroke Dock.
Much-loved and respected, she will be missed by all her family and many, many friends.

MR. J. R. ROSE
SAUNDERSFOOT
As reported in a previous issue, James Royan Rose (Jim) died at his home, Pen-Cw, The Ridgeway, Saundersfoot, where he was surrounded by his family and where he was loved and cared for.
His funeral took place at Parc Gwyn Crematorium, Narberth, on August 2, conducted by Mike Ashbridge.
Bearers were his son Andrew and three grandsons Gary, Craig and Llewellyn.
Jim originated from Scotland, so it was fitting that a piper played during the service.
Jim was stationed at St. Brides during World War Two as a signalmen and it was here that he met the love of his life, Vera, a local girl, whom he later married.
After the war, he worked in Swansea, where they lived for a few years, before Jim and Vera moved back to Saundersfoot and the family grew. He worked at Gulf and Texaco.
Predeceased by his wife in 2001, he led an active life and could often be seen walking up and down the Ridgeway, while his garden was his pride and joy, spending many happy hours tending it and keeping the family supplied with his potatoes and runner beans.
Jim was a true family man and was always there to advise them all.
He leaves to mourn his daughter Shirley, son-in-law Terry, his son Andrew and wife Gerry, grandchildren Gary, Craig, Andrea and Llewellyn, great-grandchildren Jacob, Jevon, Chloe, Callam, Morgan, Katie, Seren and Bethany. Also brother William and unable to attend Chalmers, who lives in Australia.
There were family flowers only and it was fitting to have a spray of all the vegetables he grew in his garden.

Pembroke Dock
The death occurred peacefully at Withybush Hospital on Thursday, September 8, of Mrs. Anne Rebecca Williams, of Park Street, Pembroke Dock.
Aged 82, she was the wife of the late Tony Williams.
The funeral will take place on Thursday, September 22, with a service at St. Mary’s Church, Carew Cheriton, at 11 am.

TENBY
The funeral took place last month of Mrs. Christine Elizabeth Mary Mathias, of 88 Knowling Mead, Tenby, who passed away on August 10. She was 76.
Christine was born in Tenby to Fred and Kathleen Ormond.
From a young age, she worked at the town’s Playhouse Cinema, as well as the Lion Hotel in Pembroke, along with numerous other hotels and restaurants around Tenby.
Christine married her first husband on her birthday and was a mother of three boys, Graham, Brian and Robert.
She was widowed at a young age and married her second husband Clem, and became parents to daughter Sheila.
Christine became pub landlady with her husband Clem at Silvers Bar (formerly at the old Gatehouse in Tenby), and in later years the couple became proprietors of the corner shop at Knowling Mead, before retiring.
She was a well known darts player in Pembrokeshire, after becoming a member of the first ladies darts team for Tenby.
Whilst playing for the Snooty Fox, she entered the super league, which led to her representing her county in many parts of Southern England and Wales, meeting darting legends such as Eric Bristow, John Lowe and Bobby George.
She became an avid volunteer with the Salvation Army and also enjoyed gardening, her home life and spending time with her family.
The funeral took place at Holyrood and St. Teilos Catholic Church on August 19, with Father Michael Fewell officiating at the service.
Bearers were Logan and Tristan Cardy (grandsons), David and Peter Jones (grandsons), Marie Robertson (granddaughter), Wayne Ormond (nephew).
There were family flowers only, with donations in lieu to Paul Sartori, the Salvation Army, and the Sunderland Ward of South Pembs Hospital.

The death occurred peacefully at Withybush Hospital, on Friday, September 9, of Mr. James Edward Jenkins. He was aged 80 and lived in Knightson Close, New Hedges.
Known to all as Jim, he was predeceased by his wife Maureen and will be sadly missed by his family and friends.

The death occurred peacefully at home on Thursday, September 8, of Mr. Raymond Leslie Wood, fondly known as Ray, aged 85 years, of Brewery Street, Pembroke Dock.
Ray was predeceased by his wife Edna and leaves a grown-up family.

The death occurred peacefully at Withybush Hospital on Tuesday, September 13, of Mrs. Audrey Hilton Day. She was aged 90 and lived in Charles Road, Pembroke.

MR. D. WESTON
PEMBROKE
As reported previously, the death occurred peacefully at home, on Saturday, August 6, of Mr. Douglas Weston, of 25 Wellington Street, Pembroke Dock, and formerly of 1 Williamson Street, Pembroke.
Aged 78, he was a native of Brentford/Hammersmith, but had lived in Pembrokeshire since his 20s.
During his working life, he had been a professional motorcycle racer until National Service, when he served in the RAF. Upon leaving, he became a toolmaker and spent the majority of his working as an operator at various refineries, both in Pembrokeshire and abroad (10 years in Saudi during the mid to late ’80s to the early ’90s).
He was also a keen golfer, being a member of South Pembs. Golf Club, and enjoyed fishing (coarse) and rebuilding model aeroplanes. He had also been an accomplished boxer during his late teens and was London champion in the late 1950s.
Predeceased by his wife Bernice in 2011, family left to mourn are Diane and Adrian Phillips (niece and nephew-in-law), Rhianne Cox (niece), Sophie Russell (niece), Genna and Kirtis Bowen (niece and nephew-in-law), Rori, Acer and Codi Bowen (great-nieces and nephew), Brian and Ann Weston (brother and sister-in-law), Colin Weston (brother), along with many other family and friends.
The funeral took place on August 15 when a service at Monkton Priory was followed by cremation at Parc Gwyn, Narberth.
Officiating was Rev. Paul Nash, while bearers were Kirtis Bowen, Lance Keane, Adrian Phillips, Paul Russell, Sean Doherty and Charles Cox.
