MR. G. A. DAVIES
KILGETTY
As reported previously, the death occurred peacefully, at Brooklands Nursing Home, Saundersfoot, on Monday, August 1, of Mr. Glyndwr Allen Davies, affectionately known as Glyn, aged 84 years, of Hill Lane, Kilgetty.
A native of Lawrenny, on leaving school, Glyn joined the Royal Navy, being stationed abroad at various places during his four years with the service.
After leaving the Royal Navy, he worked for the South Wales Electricity Board, SWEB as it was known. Glyn was a competent linesman for 40 years, until his retirement in 1995.
He continued working locally on small projects for people in the community until ill-health forced him to cut back.
Glyn particularly enjoyed working outdoors. He loved tending his garden and was a very familar face whilst out walking his dog.
Predeceased by his wife, Margaret Gwendoline Davies, in 2012, family left to mourn are: sons Dilwyn and Nigel, daughter Jocelyn, daughter and son-in-law Sharon and Dylan, grandchildren Kelly (and husband Edward), Jamie, Dean, Adam, Sophie and Chloe, great-grandchildren Ashleigh and Pippa, and many close relatives too numerous to mention.
A large gathering of family, neighbours and friends (some travelled from as far away as Kent) attended the funeral service on August 12 at Parc Gwyn Crematorium, Narberth.
Officiating at the service was the Rev. Huw George, while bearers were Nigel and Dilwyn (son), Ian and Peter (close friends).
Donations in lieu of flowers, if so desired, may be made for Brooklands Nursing Home, c/o E. C. Thomas and Son, Funeral Directors, Zoar Chapel Funeral Home, Llanteg, Narberth, who carried out the funeral arrangements.
Mrs. R. C. Lawrence
New Hedges
As reported last week, the death occurred peacefully at her home, Heathfield, New Hedges, on Saturday, August 20, of Mrs. Rhonwen Chriselda Lawrence. She was aged 91.
Predeceased by her husband Billy and son Richard, she is survived by son Vernon, daughter Jane and grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The funeral service takes place today (Friday, September 2), at Bethesda Church, Tenby Road, Saundersfoot, at 2 pm, and will be followed by interment.

Saundersfoot
The death occurred peacefully at her home on August 28 of Mrs. Doreen McGarvie. She was aged 87.
Doreen was predeceased by her husband Colin, but survived by daughter Karen.

BEGELLY
The death occurred suddenly at home on Thursday, August 25, of Mrs. Barbara Gibbins, aged 69 years, of The Grove, New Road, Begelly.
Loving wife of Ken, dearly-loved mother of Karen and Stuart and mother-in-law of Peter and Carol, treasured Nan and Great-Nan, much-loved sister.
The funeral service will take place at St. Mary’s Church, Begelly, today (Friday, September 2), at 11.30 am, followed by interment in the church cemetery.

The death occurred peacefully at Belmont Nursing Home, Tenby, on Tuesday, August 23, of Mrs. Elaine Dorothy Maud Litherland, aged 91 years, of Tenby.
Elaine will be sadly missed by her family and many friends.
The public funeral service will take place at St. Mary’s Church, Tenby, on Tuesday, September 6, at 11 am, followed by private cremation at Parc Gwyn, Narberth.

As reported previously, the death occurred peacefully at Park House Court Nursing Home on Monday, August 22, of Miss Nesta Davies. She was aged 95 and lived in Merlins Gardens, Tenby.
Nesta is survived by her nephew Michael and partner Rachel, niece Joan and husband David and family.
The funeral service takes place on Wednesday, September 7, at St. Mary’s Church, Tenby, at 11 am, and will be followed by cremation at Parc Gwyn Crematorium, Narberth, at 12.15 pm.

Megan Ellis
Megan Ellis passed away peacefully on August 31, at Park House Court. She was 97.
Her love of people and happy approach to life will be missed by her family, friends, fellow parishioners, former colleagues, pupils and all those whose life she touched.
Details regarding a service of thanksgiving for her life will be announced later.
