PENTLEPOIR

The funeral recently took place at Parc Gwyn Crematorium, Narberth, of Mrs. Enid Marjorie Heath, of Pentle Close, Pentlepoir, who passed away at home on March 21. She was 86.

A native of Birmingham, she spent most of her working life as a proprietor of a soft furnishing and baby clothes shop in Pembroke Dock, while during the war years, Enid worked as a chauffeur.

Her main interests included art, painting and sewing.

The funeral was officiated by Rev. Elwyn John. Bearers were Andrew Evans (friend), Chris Wood (friend), Paul Hay and Graham Thomas.

Principal mourners were close friends, Marion, Maxine and family, Pam and Terry, Sharon, Phillip and Margaret, Pam Lewis, Alan Davies, Kim and Andrew Evans, Chris and Angela Wood, together with other friends and neighbours.

There were family flowers only, with donations for the Salvation Army (Tenby branch) and the Paul Sartori Foundation, c/o E. C. Thomas and Son, funeral directors, Archways, Green Plains, Stepaside, who carried out the funeral arrangements.

The death occurred peacefully on Thursday, May 14, at her home, of Mrs. Margaret (Peggy) Cole, of 6 Croft Villas, Narberth.

She was the beloved wife of the late Ronald, devoted mother of Margaret and Geraldine, dear grandmother of Adrian, Andrew and Matthew, and great-grandmother of Adrian and Crystal's baby daughter Tabitha. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends.

The funeral service takes place today (Friday, May 22) at Parc Gwyn Crematorium, Narberth, at 1 pm. Family flowers only by request.

Colonel John Fredrick Webb Green OBE TD DL

Colonel John Fredrick Webb Green OBE TD DL passed away peacefully at home in Tenby on Friday, May 15, aged 88 years.

Dearest husband of Marlene, he was the proud father of Helen, stepson Timothy and stepdaughter Amanda, son-in-law Tom and much-loved grandpa of Claire, Andrew, Mark, Louise, Carina and Alyssia.

The funeral service will take place at St. Martin's Church in Haverfordwest, today (Friday, May 22) at 11.15 am, followed by the crematorium at 12.15 pm at Parc Gwyn Crematorium, Narberth.

Tenby

The funeral took place at St. Mary's Parish Church on Friday, May 1, of Mr. Geoffrey George Rees, of Clareston Road, Tenby, who passed away on April 24, aged 75.

Geoffrey is survived by his wife Pat, daughter Anne, sons David and Gareth, daughters-in-law Josie and Anne-Marie, grandchildren John, Phillip, Luke, Adam, Rachel and Sam, also sister Catherine, brother Donald and niece Diane.

Bearers were his eldest grandsons, John and Phillip, brother Donald and nephew David.

Geoffrey was born at Skrinkle Cottage, 7 St. Mary's Street, Tenby, and was brought up there with sister Catherine and brother Donald.

He went to Greenhill Grammar School, but left age 16 to take up a five year apprenticeship with the SWEB as an electrician.

During this time, he met his future wife, Pat, on holiday at the age of 18.

He finished his apprenticeship at the age of 21 and joined the RAF to do his National Service, during which he married Pat in 1955.

On leaving the RAF, he and his wife made their home in Quinton, Birmingham, where their daughter Anne was born.

In 1959, they moved to Kingswinford, Staffordshire, where David was born in 1960, and while there, he caught TB and recovered.

By 1969, his health began to fail and the family returned to Tenby where they bought a house in Broadwell Hayes, and Gareth was born.

After working at his trade at the then new power station, and later with Billy Wickland for some years, he had the chance, in August 1989, to become the verger of St. Mary's, Tenby. Here he was at last doing something he loved and was dedicated to until he passed away.

Mrs. A. E. G. Allen

Saundersfoot

Friends and family gathered together at Thomas Memorial Congregational Church, Saundersfoot, on Thursday, May 14, to say goodbye to Mrs. Audrey Elizabeth Graham Allen, wife of the late John Michael Allen, and mother of Rosemarie and Graham (deceased).

Born at No.1 Cambrian Terrace, Saundersfoot, Audrey lived her whole life in the village until, in 2003, as a result of disability and illness, Audrey moved to live at Park House Court Nursing Home where she died peacefully on Tuesday, May 5.

She will be remembered by residents of the village, firstly working with her parents, the late W. J. and Doris Cole, in Coles grocery shop and snack bar, and later in company with John running their café, Coles Corner Café.

On retirement from this business, Audrey ran a successful bed and breakfast establishment, while during her free time she was involved in a number of organisations, including the Soroptimists, the local Conservative Association and the church at which she became secretary, Thomas Memorial Church. Here, after the death of her mother, Doris, she once again took on the role of church organist, a service she had relinquished years before as a young woman.

The church service was conducted by the Pastor, Mr. Peter Morgan, helped by members of Audrey's family, Philip Palmer (grandson) played the piano; Stephen Palmer (grandson) read Psalm 103 and Revelation 21:1-5 and Rev. John Palmer (son-in-law) led the congregation in prayer.

John Palmer conducted the committal at Sardis Congregational Church. Philip, Stephen and John were helped by Mr. David Cole (cousin) to bear the coffin.

Other members of the family attending the service were: Mrs. Rosemarie Palmer (daughter), Mrs. Jennifer Palmer (granddaughter-in-law), Mr. Graham Cole (brother) and Mrs. Diane Rossiter (niece). Mrs. Hannah Palmer (granddaughter-in-law) and Mrs. Auriol Cole (sister-in-law) were unable to attend because of illness.

Donations in lieu of flowers are being collected for Park House Court Nursing Home and Thomas Memorial Congregational Church and may be sent c/o Pastor Peter Morgan, Fairhaven, Manorbier.

The funeral arrangements were sympathetically undertaken by Mr. Stewart Treharne, of E.C Thomas and Son, Stepaside.

The death occurred on Saturday at Withybush Hospital, Haverfordwest, of Mr. Charles Emlyn Chard, of Clareston Court, Tenby. He was 89.

He is survived by wife Jeanne, sister Gladys, nephew Paul and his wife Auriol, nephew Stephen and his wife Jen, and niece Anne Francis.

The funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 10.45 am at Parc Gwyn Crematorium, Narberth.

The death occurred at Withybush Hospital, Haverfordwest, on Monday, of Mr. George Henry Morris, of Hawthorn Lane, Jameston. He was 81.

He is survived by his wife Belinda and was a loving father, grandad (grampy), brother and a friend to all.

The death occurred suddenly, but peacefully, on Sunday, May 17, at his home, of Mr. Alan Albert Turner, of 16 Maes- y-Bryn, Llandissilio.

He was the dear partner of Sandra, much-loved father of Sam, beloved Bampi of Mathew, Michael and Morgan. He will be sadly missed by his family, friends and his community.

The funeral service takes place on Tuesday, May 26, at St. Andrew's Church, Narberth, at 12 pm, followed by interment at Bethesda Chapel, Bethesda. The family request, bright clothing be worn.

The death occurred on Tuesday at her home, 8 Scotsborough View, Tenby, of Mrs. Carrie Sheila Jones. She was 82.

Predeceased by her husband Harry Jones and son-in-law Griff, she is survived by her daughter Lesley, grandchildren Martyn and Kelly and other family too numerous to mention.

The death occurred on Sunday at Park House Court Nursing Home, Tenby, of Mrs. Eira Patricia Wildish, of Flemish Close, St. Florence. She was 94.

She is survived by daughters Patricia and Sue, sister Barbara, niece and nephews Rosanne, Guy, Geoffrey, Tim, Howard, Michael and John.
