The funeral took place recently of Mr. Gerald Williams, of Hillgrove, Greenhill Road, Tenby, who passed away on May 2. He was 81.
A native of Narberth, Gerald lived in Tenby since he married his wife Diane in 1960.
Gerald always worked hard and was at his happiest working for many years as a green keeper at Tenby Golf Club until he retied aged 65.
He was a popular figure in and around Tenby, riding his bike every day, even going as far as St. Florence and Cresselly.
Gerald adored his four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren and was proud of them all.
He leaves to mourn his wife Diane and daughters Karen and Hayley.
The funeral took place on Monday, May 21, with a service conducted by Rev. Canon Andrew Grace.
Processional music featured at the service included - ‘Ave Maria’, hymns - 23rd Psalm, and The Old Rugged Cross; whilst the recessional music was ‘I Love You Because’ by Jim Reeves.
Bearers were Tony Beare, Matthew Beare, Richard Walwyn, and Jake Campbell.
There were beautiful floral tributes from close family, and donations in memory for the British Heart Foundation, c/o Messrs W. and M. J. Rossiter and Sons Ltd., The Old Rectory, The Norton, Tenby.

Susan Hare (nee Brown), of Ryelands Place, Kilgetty, passed away peacefully at Withybush Hospital, Haverfordwest, on May 8.?She was 77.
Susan was born in Tenby on 28 April 28, 1941, to the late Robert and Edie Brown and was brought up in Newell Hill and Knowling Mead in Tenby.
Susan spent her early years in Tenby Primary school before moving on to Greenhill School.
She left school at 15 to take up a role in Tenby Laundry which was then based in Lower Park Road, Tenby, where she worked for a number of years.
During this time, she met the love of her life, her late husband Eddie Hare. Eddie was from Kilgetty, but they actually met at a dance in Ammanford. They were married in Kilgetty on May 9, 1959. Sue then moved to live in Dale as this is where Eddie started working as a farmhand. Shortly afterwards, their first child Kevin was born, closely followed by Julie.
It was the start of a new era for Sue and Eddie so they decided to move to Kilgetty to be closer to family. After Eddie started a new job, Sue stayed at home with the children. Over the next few years, there were three more additions to the family, Stephen, Paul and Katrina. Sue was a hardworking and loving housewife. She also took up some part-time roles during this time in an effort to make the books balance! Even turning to potato picking during the summer holidays often taking the children with her.
Sue enjoyed going to Stepaside Inn with Eddie in the ’60s and ’70s where they forged numerous friendships, many which have lasted to this day. Sue also enjoying playing darts with her friends at Stepaside Inn. You would also find Sue down at Amroth beach with Eddie and the children during the summer months. Sue was also a keen royalist, watching and reading anything to do with the royal family.
In the years that followed, Sue was blessed with 10 grandchildren and 10 great -grandchildren whom she adored and loved spending time with. She worked as a cook in Bay View Hotel, Pleasant Valley, and in Pencoed, Brooklands and Caldey Grange care homes. She thoroughly enjoyed her time cooking and often commented on enjoying the time spent with her workmates.
In her retirement years, she spent most of her time in the garden with Eddie. Between them, they perfected the garden to how they had always dreamed of, spending many hours to achieve this, something they were equally proud of.
Sue also enjoyed shopping and holidaying with Eddie and visiting family in all corners of the UK. She also liked to visit Malta to see family.
Sue was predeceased by by her husband, Eddie, who passed away in Nov 2007.
Sue was also predeceased by her brothers Terence in 2002 and Robert in 2012.
Left to mourn are her children, Kevin and Sue (son and partner), Julie and Glyn (daughter and son-in-law), Stephen and Yvonne (son and partner), Paul (son), Katrina and Jason (daughter and partner).
Dorothy and Eileen (sisters), John (brother), Frederick and Hazel (brother and sister-in-law), Spencer (brother-in-law), Margaret, Marion, Janet, Pat, Doris (sisters-in -law).
Laura, James, David, John, Mark, Victoria, Keeley, Rebecca, Courtney and Macauley (grandchildren).
Henry, Ryan, Megan, Miles, Erin, Lois, Paige, Phoebe, Olivia and Archie (great-grandchildren)
There were also left to mourn many nieces, nephews, friends and neighbours too numerous to mention individually.
Bearers were Paul Hare (son), David Morgan, John Morgan, Mark Morgan, James Hare and Macauley Connor (grandsons).
Sue will be missed by all who came into contact with her.
There were family flowers only, with donations, if so desired, for British Heart Foundation, c/o E .C. Thomas and Son, Zoar Chapel Funeral Home, Llanteg, and 21 Main Street, Pembroke, who conducted the funeral arrangements.

A large gathering of family and friends attended the funeral on Thursday, May 24, at Parc Gwyn Crematorium, Narberth, of Mr. Alan Ormond. Alan passed away on May 12, at Withybush Hospital, aged 69 years.
Alan leaves his partner Teresa, children Tracy, Barry, Nicola and Louise and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, sister Vie and brothers and sisters-in-law Cliff and Sandra, Michael, Patrick and Jane, Clem.
The funeral service was conducted by Rev. Caroline Mansell.
Bearers were Barry Ormond, Cliff Ormond, Mike Day, Graham Hughes.
A native of Tenby, his working life started at the age of 15 when Alan started working in a bakery in Tenby, but after a while, he became a self-employed builder and he stayed in the building trade until he retired.
His main interests were playing with the Frantic Five band, football, especially Manchester United, and holidays in the sun.

Sadly, Sheila passed away on Wednesday, May 9, at Withybush General Hospital, Haverfordwest, aged 85 years.
She wasc predeceased in December 2016 by her husband Ted, to whom she was married for 60 years.
Sheila is survived by her daughter Gillian, son-in-law Paul and grandson Robert.
In accordance with her wishes, a private ceremony, conducted by humanist Mike Ashbridge, was held on May 23 at Zoar Chapel Funeral Home, Llanteg, followed by interment at St. Issell’s Cemetery, Saundersfoot.
Funeral arrangements were conducted by E. C. Thomas and Son, funeral directors, Zoar Chapel Funeral Home, Llanteg, and 21 Main Street, Pembroke.
